The days blurred together after the parking lot showdown.
Arlo and Kael didn’t bother me again. I didn’t know if it was the fact that I blocked them or they just took the hint and left me alone.
Either way, it felt… abnormal without them. Unusually quiet and everything seemed out of place.
I stayed holed up in the quarters, most mornings starting with the laptop propped on my knees, screen glowing as I scrolled through endless job listings. Marketing gigs, remote admin roles, anything that screamed normalcy. I fired off applications, fingers hovering over 'send' with a mix of hope and hesitation.
