Amina rushed into the living room and ran past Bisi who was sitting on the couch with tears in her eyes. She hurried into her room just as her friend got up and came after her but she slammed the door in her face, turning the lock. It had taken great effort to keep the tears at bay as she left Ifeanyi’s apartment and driven all the way home but as she came out of her car, she couldn’t hold it anymore. He had called her a b***h and mocked her by kissing her and she had been so weak she had let him. Why couldn’t she just get over him. She shouldn’t have gone to see him, she should’ve just told him about the wedding over the phone. “Meena, what’s wrong? Please open the door, we can talk about it.” Bisi’s muffled voice came through the door but she ignored it and walked over to her bed.
