Kelsey lingered in the kitchen for a long time before returning to the hall. She breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see Marcus anywhere.
She was a little annoyed with herself for speaking without thinking earlier—it had been truly awkward.
Heading upstairs to the bedroom, she found Marcus still absent, likely in the study.
She was used to their arrangement. He always slept in the study.
Turning to the closet, she noticed that aside from Marcus's clothes and her own, there were no other additions.
It seemed exactly as she had left it, with no changes.
