There had been a big blizzard predicted for the Midwest before he left, and he wondered if it had hit Michigan. There was no mention of that, but the headline article was something a lot more troubling.
“Have you been following this virus that began in China back in December?” he asked Sandro.
“I didn’t hear too much about it at first,” he admitted. “We were so focused on the damage the flood caused to the city and its economy, and how it affected our lives, that most of us didn’t pay any attention. But I had heard recently that there were concerns about the virus getting out of China as people travelled.”
