5 | pre-wedding rituals

On 9th February early morning all got dressed in their traditional wear for chunni ceremony. Nandini looked beautiful in her red and pink lehenga with a mangtika on her head. As she enters everyone is mesmerized by her beauty and meera came forward and took her towards the stage and made her sit besides Manik. Soon niyonika came forward and put a red veil also know as chunni on her head. She then put bangles on her wrist and more jewelry added to her neck. After she was dressed as a bride raj came to her and put meva in her lap. Niyonika then asked Manik to fill Nandini’s hairline with vermillion. As he did so Nandini closed her eyes in bliss to be his. 

At 1 pm everyone got ready wearing yellow kurta and sarees. The theme color was yellow for the haldi ceremony. 

Soon Kabir and Dhruv brought Manik out. 

Amms and dadi applied haldi to Manik. It was quite funny as he was making faces. Later after the older women were done. It was time for the younger clan. All applied it very slowly. Then all of a sudden Kabir empties the whole bowl on Manik drenching him completely. All of them literally played holi. they called Nandini out and sent Manik in. Nandini was made to sit on the medium size seat and then first they did her aarti and the woman touched her forehead with a leaf after dipping it in oil. Then Amms came forward and dipped the same leaf in haldi and applied it on her head. Soon one by one all applied it to Nandini and then she took bath with water and necessities that came from Manik's household. 

Next day: 11a. m. 

All the ladies were sitting in the garden of the palace dancing and singing as it was mehandi ceremony. Niyonika came forward with the tray she had and placed it on the table which contained mehendi for Nandini along with dry fruits and sweets. She then came forward and took the cone in which she had stored mehendi and applied a little on both her hands. Then she let the professional mehendi artists take over meanwhile amms being the emotional woman she is started singing touching her granddaughter's face to express her emotions through her words and Nandini's mom joined her in the middle.

Then Abhimanyu came forward and sang touching his sister's face and kissing her forehead lightly who returned to India two weeks ago to attend his beloved sister's wedding rituals and be a part of it.

All were dancing around Nandini when Kabir sang seeing Nandini and hugged her kissing her head and then abhi also joined. Both blessed her utmost happiness

Nandini's mom sang caressing her daughter’s face with love who was going to another household and she became sad and was going to cry but rishab consoled her with a peck on the head and a side hug. 

Gudiya ri gudiya tera gudda perdesiya

Jodi aasmani ho gayi

Shagun pe dekho shaad maani ho gayi (x2)

Rishab sang and nandini was on the verge of crying now. She almost let out two three tears but her grandmother wiped it. 

The ladies then sang and the girl side family spend time and almost in tears.

That's how the sweet family function got over with lots of emotions in hearts and reflection on face. 

Later at night time they thought to sit and talk and that was the elders plan. The youngsters were all with their loved ones checking out their mehandi. 

Manan was sitting in Nandini's room. 

Manik: Nanz show me your mehendi. 

Nanz was about to but then suddenly ran screaming: why should I! 

Nandini!!!! Manik screamed and started to chase her around. He caught her and back hugged her and said: gotcha!! 

He started to tickle her and she started laughing. 

Finally when he stopped he pull her by her waist and checked out her mehendi. 

Manik: beautiful but not more than you. 

She blushed and then he kissed her palm and hugged her tightly and after a hour he left to his room. 

Nandini's pov. 

Tomorrow we go around Udaipur seeing places. I drift to sleep and goodnight to the world. 

Nandini's POV end. 

Manik's pov. 

I was waiting with the guys for Nandini and the girls to come. Soon they came out and Nandini like always took my breathe away. She was wearing a white and black jumpsuit. We then left to explore Udaipur. Here we are Udaipur!!!!.

We first visited the city palace. The place was wonderful and a guide helped us explore the place. 

Nandini and me had our hands entwined. We were exploring the place and talking in-between I would kiss her and she would just blush. 

Next we visited a lake, Lake Pichola and also jag mandir on lake Pichola. Other places we went to were monsoon palace, Fateh sagar lake. Last place that we visited was moti magir. The whole journey was beautiful. Us happily singing and dancing, clicking pictures of couples, singles and group selfie at the end. After a long happening but tiring day we returned back to the palace. After goodbyes and kisses we all retired to sleep and the next thing I know that tomorrow is sangeet.
