Chapter 1
What??? You're screwing my cousin?" Kayla Moon, the girlfriend of Mark Clark, said in the most gentle but angry tone.
Kayla Moon, a fragile beautiful girl with eyes as green as emeralds, had a mesmerizing gaze that could calm the soul and a face that glowed under the moon, just like an angel.
Selena smirked and turned Mark's face over to her and kissed him passionately.
Kayla burned with anger, but in shock and disbelief couldn't understand what was going on. Bu..but I thought we could finally be together. Why's she kissing you Mark? Kayla asked with tears streaming down her face," You Selena, you're my cousin, what did I ever do to you? Kayla asked, visibly shaking and turning pale.
Ugh, seriously? You think I'd come to bail your sorry ass out, b***h, Mark smirked and said. But you said if I took the fall that I..I..I'd be out in no time, and we'd get married, Kayla said, looking confused and trying not to stutter.
Oh honey, Mark was never yours, he was only using you to take the fall, you clueless b***h. Selena's words dripped like venom as she spat out each syllable, her voice laced with malice and disdain, making the air around them thick with tension.
No, no, that's not possible, I'm carrying your child, you can't do this to me, Kayla muttered as tears welled up her eyes again. Oh, come on grace, that bastard isn't mine , no chance, Mark said with no remorse, what?? No, Kayla said, her eyes frozen with a mixture of pain and despair. I remember that night, that night?? Mark said, cutting her off, That wasn't me, I dosed you up and then sold you off to the highest bidder. You sold me?? Kayla asked with shock and disbelief. No, no, no, that's not true. Oh my God, Kayla kept shaking her head, not believing what Mark was saying to her. Aw, Kayla said, squeezing her face and a gush of water like liquid came flowing down her legs, ewwww are you going into labor? Selena said, feeling disgusted…
The wardens rushed in and took Kayla to the prison infirmary…..
**Selena**
Awnn, poor little jail bird, looks like you're going to rot here for a while, Selena mocked and laughed. Her laughter was a low, throaty purr, rich with malevolence and satisfaction, as if the very thought of it was a delicious sin she couldn't get enough of…
**The infirmary**
Ahhhhhhh, ahhhh, Kayla groaned and screamed at the top of her lungs while trying to push. Come on push, you can do it. The baby is almost here, one of the nurses said to Kayla while wiping the sweat off her forehead, I can't, I'm exhausted. Kayla cried in pain while trying to catch her breath…OK, she's losing too much blood and her blood pressure is rising. We'll have to call a surgeon, the doctor said in panic …..
**Meanwhile, at the Anderson's group*.
Jason Anderson stood by the window, his imposing 6'4" frame silhouetted against the cityscape as he gazed out into the distance, his chiseled jawline and piercing eyes carved from granite, his sleek black hair perfectly styled. The tailored suit accentuated his broad chest and shoulders, exuding an aura of confidence and authority, yet his eyes seemed to hold a glacial chill, as if the warmth had been frozen out of him, leaving behind a calculating intensity that was both captivating and unnerving.
It's been nine months, Sam, you still haven't found the woman from that night, Jason said, shouting at his assistant Sam," a worried but cold look, I don't care what you're going to do or how much it's going to cost. Find her for me, Jason said with a firm and commanding tone. Of course, sir, his assistant replied… where's this girl, I hope she's fine wherever she is?" Jason thought to himself, looking worried…
**Back at the infirmary**
Kayla laid there, waking up from her unconsciousness, looking pale and exhausted. “My baby, where's my baby?” she said, standing up abruptly and holding the nurse really tight, it was a girl. The nurse replied, trying to loosen Kayla's grip on her clothes, but she was born with defects, she barely cried before she stopped breathing. The nurse continued looking sad, her eyes, red-rimmed with empathy, locked onto hers as she delivered the news, her voice soft but heavy with sorrow. Kayla stumbled back, a sob ripped from her throat as she collapsed onto the bed, her body curling up into a tight ball as if trying to shield itself from the pain, tears streaming down her face in a cathartic release of grief and despair.
**At the back of the prison infirmary**
Nancy, the nurse who had been attending to Kayla and broke the news to Kayla, wheeled a baby court with a baby inside it to the back of the infirmary and, with a very low and hushed tone, faced a woman and said, “The baby's here now, where's my money?? Who would have thought someone like her would be the one carrying Anderson's blood. A criminal would never be part of the Anderson family, no one would ever know she gave birth to the heir of the Anderson family. The woman with a thick red lipstick sitting heavy on her lips said, she exuded confidence and poise. Her cold eyes met the nurse as she took the baby, her voice firm but low. 'Thank you,' she said, handing over a brown envelope. The nurse nodded, her expression neutral, as she took the envelope and left.
**Three years later**
Kayla moon, you're out on parole, one of the wardens said while shoving Kayla's little bag into her hands. That means you need to find a steady job and fast. If you don't, they'll revoke it and throw you right back to the prison, she continued, while looking stern and cold…
Kayla sat in a restaurant chewing on her fries and staring at the CV laying hopelessly on the table. It'd been two months, and everywhere she's been to for a job kept rejecting her, saying,“ They have a policy and would not employ an ex-convict.”
“Only one month left and I haven't gotten a job. If I don't get a job I'll be sent back to prison,” Kayla thought. While chewing on the fries, she threw the fries down on the plate and broke down in tears, in fear of being sent back to prison. While she was still sobbing and thinking of what next to do, a voice came from the TV announcing, “Now hiring, live in nanny for the daughter of a billionaire, ten thousand dollars per week, accommodations and feeding included.” Kayla raised her head up in hopes of trying for the job. She stood up and rushed out of the restaurant, after getting the address to
Where the interview is to be conducted.
