A lost flower
Lost in sea
Lost on land
Lost in love
The writer plans ahead for her future that had died away. Her career is there but lost in the dark.
Her lantern has been out for years now and she has given up on her life.
Then one person came to lighten her world yet the colors are still faded and covered by black and white.
She throws her typewriter away and lay on the floor where her papers have scattered and cry. Her tears begin to draw her tragedy onto the paper.
The little mermaid sits on the beach. She has saved a prince. Her heart feels fuzzy and she knows she's fallen in love.
The butterflies in her stomach are about to burst out as the Prince smiles at her. His soft gentle voice soothes her pain away. She blushes and jumps back into the water afraid of her exploding heart.
She swims back to her kingdom where people have fallen for her. They love and care for her. Somehow she still felt lonely and sad.
The mermaid smiles a sad smile and went to the beach where the one who can truly warm her heart is at.
He sings her a song and her heart begins to flutter. He asks to hear her voice but she backs away shy and jumps into the water. From then on he became her drug.
She needed him and needed to hear his voice every day. She would swim up to the beach and wait for him to come and he would.
He cares for her she thought. He wants her and needs her she thought. He loves her she thought. When he said those three words, "I love you", she believes him and follows him.
She gave him her heart and he gave her his hand.
She gave up her tail for human legs and walk on land with him. She spoke to him and he responded lovingly.
She fell for him too hard. He let her into his home and she finds his flaws everywhere.
His scars on his arms, his body bruised, his lungs tortured by chemical, and his mind drowned in alcohol. Yet she loved him. He is the towns bad boy and every girl dream who they want to devour. He is not a prince but he is her prince.
She is a lock at home where she is protected by him. She seems like a prisoner but she loved being trap in his home where he loved her.
The men in town begin to notice the mermaid and hog the house waiting for her to show. Every time she did they would call her to come out. She didn't come out or use her voice. She knew who she belonged to and only gave them a friendly smile and a wave.
Her prince would get obsessive and protect her from the men. He would fight for her. His jealousy made her fall for him more. However, he didn't come home until late or for a few days.
He would come home tired and not say a word. She would tell him Good night and good morning but all he would respond with is his smile.
She left unloved and wanted to leave but every time she did so he would hold her close and tell her he loves her and give her kisses she couldn't resist.
She accepted her fate of love and loved him unconditionally until she met the Knight. He wasn't like the Prince. He was average looking and known as an average person. However, his personality flew beyond the sky. He is a gentleman who knew respect. When men begin to disappear he made his way to the mermaid and helped her around. She begins to fall in love and felt guilty. She pushes the Knight out of her life and suffered quietly.
However, the Knight told her sweet words that warmed her heart and promised her that if she came to him he will treasure her.
The Prince came home one day and the Mermaid broke off their relationship. She cried and the Prince cried. They both were heartbroken but she crumbled.
She walks to the Knight and there she sees him saving a princess in the tower and she walks away. Her heart is shattering and her tears are flowing.
She felt betrayed but told herself the Knight doesn't love her, therefore, she shouldn't involve herself in his life.
She sighs and looks at the sea where she came from. Her tails are now gone but she still jumps into the water and sank slowly.
Her eyes are shut close and all she sees is the darkness.
Like her lost heart, she is forever lost in the darkness of the sea.
