The flower never got picked She waited until Winter came Then was she saved By death A princess is waiting at the top of a tower. She waits for Prince Charming but he never shows up. She takes a peek out her window and sees princesses being carried away by a prince on a white horse. She wonders if she is not skinny enough and starved herself. She wonders if she is too dark and hid in the shadows. She wonders if she is not beautiful enough and smeared on red lipstick. Time passes by and her tower has been covered in thorns and vines. Dark clouds grew over the tower with crows circling it. Her windows are closed and she stays on her bed waiting for Prince Charming to come and kiss her awake. Time passes over and over again. The blood of Princes and Knights that have tried to save her are splattered onto the tower. The tired princess limps towards the window and opens it. She looks out the window and sees how ruined the tower has become and the blood stained on her tower. She sees others riding away with Princes. She just smiles and laughs while waiting for her Prince Charming. Times have passed again and her body is laying there on the dusty bed where the flowers she has surrounded herself in has dried away. Finally, a Prince has walked into the tower. He looks around and sees the princess and runs to her. He says his sweet words and finally kisses her. However, she would not wake. She has already passed. This story is written to show the waiting of a girl for love. Her mind is a mess. (The tower) Her heart is waiting. (The Princess) The Prince at the end shows that her soulmate has come too late and she is already no longer able to love. ---------- The writer is too ashamed of herself to love. She believes she can not love another when she can't even love herself. She would always think that a rotten apple should not be eaten therefore she should not be loved. The longer she waits for love, her mind becomes messier and her heart becomes darker. When he finally comes, he fights through her mind and reaches her heart but how can she love him back when her heart is already dead.
