ADRIAN’S POV

I started at the black car across the street

A black SUV parked across from us

I got a little scared and glanced at Elena

And my moms word kept replaying in my head

Someone is watching you

I didn’t want to scare Selena but we had to leave the restaurant fast

“Selena” I whispered

She looked up at me

“Hmm”

“We have to leave someone is watching us across the street”

She looked across and I could see the fear in her eyes

“Adrian I have to leave”she said snatching the paper

“Is something wrong? I can ride you ho-“

“NO” she screamed

“I’m sorry…but you can’t, but seriously I have to leave” she said standing up and rushing out of the cafe

Then the boys came to her and whispered something in her ear and she entered the car and left

Then my phone buzzed

Got a message from an unknown number and it said

“Stop digging into the past”

My body froze

Who could this be?

I hurriedly went home to confront my mother

“MOM” I screamed fuming

“Dear?” She replied

“What the f**k did you do to Selena, how did you know I was there and how do you know there was a car there”I said

“Adrian..we can’t talk about this” she said looking stern

“Mum we are going to f*****g talk about this”I replied

“Don’t curse at me, I’m still your mother” she said screaming

“I DONT CARE I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF SELENA IS OK”I said screamed too

“Yes she’s fine and if you excuse me I was busy before you disturbed me with your presence” she said walking away and I threw myself on the couch

I was too afraid to text Selena and I was thinking about how I was going to face her in school after everything that happened

“I mean what if her dad finds out” I said whispering to myself

“f**k, I need to sleep my head is aching”I said going upstairs

30 MINS LATER

I came out of the bathroom and I saw my phone

It was Selena!!

Selena-Hey we need to talk but we have to meet at a remote area

Me-Okay where should we meet? And I hope you’re fine

Selena- yea I’m fine just a little misunderstanding

Me-What misunderstanding? Please explain I’m worried sick here

Selena-When we see

Me-Selena?!!

She didn’t answer

2 HOURS LATER

My phone buzzed

It was Selena

Selena-come to the bar at the end of town no one will find us there and it’s quite dark

Me-no problem I’m on my way

AT THE BAR

I called Selena and directed me where to go

Immediately she saw me she hugged me

“Hey” I said

“Hi” she said cleaning her nose

“What happened.. who were those guys” i said still holding her

“They were my fathers men, they came to look for me and I was so scared they were going to tell my dad about where I am” she said still hugging me

“Did they”

“No they didn’t”

“Ok ok ok that’s good” I said feeling relieved “but what should we do? Should we stop seeing each other?”

“Honestly Adrian I don’t know for now” she said pulling away “I’m really tired I just want all this to end”

“ I understand”

“Please order drinks any type of alcohol”

“So you drink” I looked at her smiling

“Do you think I’m a child?” She replied laughing and hit my shoulder

“Ouch that hurts”

“Uh huh” she said rolling her hands

In my mind I just wanted this moment to last forever

“Adrian why’re you looking at me like that?”she said staring at me

“I’m sorry I just wanted to-“

“Shhh it’s okay.. let’s go to the balcony”

She said standing up and I couldn’t help but stare at her

I paid for the drinks and hurriedly went to meet her

“Isn’t this view beautiful” she said looking at me

“Yea it is” I said looking up

“Hows everything at home” I said

“Great.. I guess” she whispered

“Selena you know you can tell me anything right?”

“Why should I trust you? Have you forgotten that we are meant to be enemies?”

I sighed

“I want us to be friends like genuinely, I know it’s a bit too early for this but I feel weirdly comfortable with you”

“Me too” she said staring at me

“Let’s go it’s getting a bit late”

“You haven't told me the real reason why you wanted us to meet here..”

“Selena you genuinely scared me on the phone”

“I didn’t you just care about me” she said coming closer to me and I couldn’t help but notice her beauty and smile

She laughed and it felt like music to my ears

We drank and talked a little then I booked a cab for her to go home

Then I went home smiling from ear to ear and couldn’t stop thinking about that encounter

Why didn’t I kiss her? I kind of regret I can’t lie

She was totally feeling me I would have kissed her

But it’s too soon right? I kind of regret now

Immediately I entered I saw my dad staring coldly at me

“Where have you been since?” He said staring at me

“Dad I’m an adult you can’t be asking me questions like this” I replied

“Okay” he sighed “ I was worried”

“No problem I’ll be in my room” I went upstairs

After freshening up I couldn’t help but think about this night

“Selena…”

“What have you done to me” I said smiling

“Well I have school tomorrow I need to get some sleep”

After doomscrolling a bit I finally slept off
