The Bunker

Arriving at the bunker, they noticed that something was off about it. They approached slowly thinking that someone had found out about the bunker. Lana and Rea stayed behind with their kids while Liam and Richard scouted ahead. As they got closer, they didn't see anyone around and proceeded to walk to the hidden door of the bunker and inspect it. It showed no signs of tampering, so they went back to get their wives and kids. They uncovered the door from its hiding spot and went into the entrance of the bunker. When they went through the door, something strange happened. There was a humming and a shimmering all around them. They all froze, and the kids were all excited, not knowing that it wasn't supposed to be happening. They jumped and clapped and screamed excitedly. The adults, however, were all frozen in fear and wondered what was going on. As the humming and shimmering started to dissipate, a keypad appeared next to the door. Richard went to the door and was about to open the door when an automated voice boomed around them. "Welcome to your own personalized bunker. This bunker was chosen by a higher power to become an inner-dimensional safe zone." Suddenly a touch screen appeared in front of them. The booming automated voice continued, "This touch screen will help you design your bunker. You can personalize your rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, play areas, and any other kind of room that you would like to create. We have noticed that you have already built it and decorated it and have kept it as is, but if you would like to improve it, add to it, this is your chance. We have noticed that you have military gear, guns and ammo and would like to inform you that you can even design a gun range and training arena here too, if you would so desire. We have designed a hospital bed in your bunker that can heal all wounds and diseases. If you would like to get rid of scars, tattoos, stubborn belly fat or even a shave, it can do that too. It is similar to the hospital beds in the movie Elysium. We know that you have collected twenty years worth of food and stored it in the bunker and have improved your kitchen. Along with the food that you have collected, we have added a touch screen that has every option available. You can choose from Chinese, Mexican, Asian, Seafood, Italian ext. When you choose one of them, it will give you a menu of all the foods that comes with it and the kitchen will prepare it for you. If you don't want the kitchen to make it for you and would like to cook it yourself, then there is an option button for that as well, and it will provide the ingredients for that meal and show you how to make it. We have provided the essentials and if there is anything else you would like to have, you can always come back to this touch screen and add it."
The adults stood frozen in their spots. They couldn't believe what they were hearing and seeing. As the automated voice was talking, it showed them everything it was talking about and how it worked. As they watched in awe, they started to get excited. They couldn't wait to go into the bunker now. Before they opened the door, the automated voice spoke again. "We have noticed that you don't have all of your family members with you and would like to offer a solution to this. Go to the touch screen to the right of the door and select the family members or friends you would like to be included in the bunker and the door will connect you to that family member or friends' front door. Once you have everyone you wish to be included, we will deactivate this so nobody else can find your bunker. If you think of anybody else later on that you would like to include, then just ask aloud, and we will hear you and consider your request. If granted, we will open the door again. Please do this first before you enter the bunker, so that they can design their own space in the bunker. Once they have all completed this, you can all then enter the bunker together. If you bring someone here, and they decide they don't want to be a part of the bunker, their memory of this place will be wiped as they exit, so that they can't compromise the location of the bunker."
Richard and Rea went first and, just like the voice said, the door opened to their front door, and they gathered all the family members and friends they wanted to join them. Liam and Lana went after them and they gathered everyone they wanted. There were a lot of people that each chose that didn't want to go into the bunker, and they all watched as they went back through the door and their memories were wiped. The entrance of the bunker got bigger as the number of people in the room kept getting bigger. It took an hour for everyone to design their rooms and what they wanted in their spaces. When everyone was done, the automated voice explained things to them once more, and we all went into the bunker together.
Everyone was stunned. They all gaped and slowly walked in as they took in the bunker. The first room was a living room with a giant TV, a fireplace and a bunch of couches and chairs for everyone to relax on. To the right of the living room was the kitchen. It grew to an enormous size due to the number of people added to the bunker. To the left of the living room was another touch screen and the automated voice sounded again explaining what it was for. "This touch screen is how you find your personalized space. Here you can choose whose rooms will be together like a house. It will include its own personal living room and kitchen and resemble a house layout. The area you are in right now is for when you all want to get together and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, holidays or just have a happy gathering. You can also access the hospital bed, workout rooms, and swimming pools through any door if needed. I have noticed that there are a lot of children and teenagers added to the bunker. We have added a schoolroom for each grade level so they can continue their education. School hours will be the same as they were in the real world. We have set alarms for everyone that has to attend. Would you like us to design a park for the younger children as well?" Lana and Rea said "Yes" in unison. "Okay, there is now a park for the children to play in as well."
Everyone in the room discussed who was going to live with whom and what to call each house. That way, all we have to do is type in one name to find who we are looking for. Everyone agreed to knock on the door before entering any door. That way they don't walk in on anything they're not supposed to. As everyone went to their respective homes, they explored them and went to the touch screen to add anything else they wanted in their rooms. After about an hour, the automated voice asked everyone to come to the main living room. When they all arrived, the automated voice said "Due to the coming war, we ask that you remain in the bunker. Those of you who were to be drafted have been erased from existence in the real world. That way you don't have to worry about being labeled as a deserter. During the day, if you would like to know what is going on in the real world, we would be happy to give you a live update every hour. Please enjoy your new homes and have a wonderful evening." After the announcement, they all went back to their homes.
