~*~ “Pandora smiled contently at him.” ‘Ah. What a nice read!’ Lyma thought after finishing yet another book. Lying on her bed, arms and legs stretch outward, Lyma stared unto her room’s white ceiling. The cheap white paint is peeling and blots of water caused by countless of downpour is already visible. The room itself can be described as ‘near its end’, thin wooden walls barely hold each other to shield her from the outside. But this is the only room that she can afford. Living alone, with no one you can lean on, it’s not so easy. And above that, Lyma is still in College and have to support herself. ‘How I wish life would be that great for me. Just travelling around visiting places as you please not minding much about life.’ She turned back to the book she was holding and stared at its cover. A shinning golden castle with the title written on it. ‘Cockaigne’. Examining the art displayed before her she sighed heavily. ‘Pandora did deserve that break. Being all locked up just because you’re frail and weak.’ Lyma sat up and placed the book she was holding on top of the small table beside her bed. Tying her hair she walked towards the mirror inside of her room. She stared at her reflection. Long wavy hair, fair skin and small face. She’s pretty much a normal twenty year old woman except she’s dying and oh! Her eye colors don’t match. But she love that part of her though, her eyes and not the dying part. She turn and look at the small clock hanging above her bed. Four twenty-seven the clock read. She sigh. She needs to prepare for her six o’ clock class. She opened her cabinet and pulled out her towel and she walked towards her door. She was about to the grab the door knob when a sudden pain shot through her chest. Instinctively, she clutch on the area as if to grab the pain and slowly backs away from the door and sat on the floor. Leaning against the bed, she grasp for air to breath. One second. Two seconds. Three seconds. The pain is still there. More intense as time passes and now throbbing. She clutched harder now using both hands as if using two hands will take the pain away. Lyma wanted to scream, she wanted to shout for help but no voice came out when she opened her mouth. Lyma started to cry. Sobbing her ear starts to ring and the pain intensify. And after a few more seconds her vision starts to fade not because of her crying but darkness is creeping on the sides of her line of sight. She closed her eyes and struggled still for air. ‘Help!’ Not long after as the larger hand on the clock struck on number six, the hands clutching Lyma’s chest gave way. And she was thrown into a dark endless space.
