Under the blood moon, Elara Voss believed the mate bond would finally make her permanent.

Instead, Alpha Kael Blackthorn rejected her in front of the entire pack.

He called her too weak.

He stripped her rank.

He ordered her to leave.

Broken and cast out, Elara walked into the wild with nothing but a shattered bond and a birthmark that began to burn the moment she crossed the border. What started as quiet pain soon became something far more dangerous an ancient power waking in her blood, one the Blackthorn Pack never expected from a mid-rank wolf they discarded so easily.

Four years later, Elara returns.

No longer the quiet girl who made herself smaller for a man who never chose her.

No longer willing to beg for a place that was never truly hers.

She comes back with control, strength, and a purpose sharper than revenge. The mate bond still lingers, painful and unfinished, but Elara no longer needs Kael’s approval. What she wants is far more dangerous: to become something the pack can no longer ignore… and to make certain that the Alpha who rejected her finally understands exactly what he threw away.

But power has a cost.

Old enemies are watching.

And the bond that once broke her may not be finished with either of them.

Luna's Howl Of Vengeance is a dark werewolf romance about rejection, reclamation, and the kind of strength that is earned the hard way not given by fate.

Chapter One:The Blood Moon Claiming
Chapter One: The Blood Moon Claiming The forest held its breath under the blood moon. Elara Voss walked the worn path toward the ceremonial clearing with her hands clenched at her sides. Every step pulled at something deep in her chest. The mate bond hummed steady and warm, the same way it had for the past two years whenever Kael Blackthorn came near. Tonight it would become permanent. She had told herself that every morning for weeks. She remembered the afternoon three months earlier when she had brought reports to the Alpha’s study. Kael had looked up from the maps, and for a short moment the bond had settled between them quiet and sure. He had not spoken of it, but he had not looked away either. That single shared glance had been enough to make her believe the Claiming would simply finish what the bond had already started. She had spent years training harder, speaking softer, and staying out of every fight that might make the elders question her rank. She had made herself smaller so he would see her as safe enough to choose. She was only mid-rank, but she had convinced herself that would be enough if Kael chose her. Pack members filled the open space between the ancient pines. Torches burned in a wide circle. Elders stood in their dark cloaks near the raised stone platform. At the center of the platform rested the old Claiming stone, a flat slab of dark rock where the Alpha’s chosen was meant to stand while the bond was sealed with a shared cut across the palm and a formal howl from the pack. Kael waited beside it, tall and still, the Alpha mark on his forearm catching the red light. His ice blue eyes scanned the crowd once and stopped on her. Elara’s pulse jumped. She kept her chin level and moved to the place where the chosen was meant to stand. Her brother Lucien stood a few rows back. His jaw was tight and his eyes never left Kael. He had never liked how quiet she became around the Alpha, and tonight that dislike showed clearly in the set of his shoulders. He gave her a small nod anyway, the only encouragement she needed. Elder Thorne raised both hands. The low talk died. “Under the blood moon we gather for the Claiming. Alpha Kael Blackthorn, the bond has shown itself. Speak your choice.” Kael stepped forward. The bond flared hotter. Elara’s breath caught. She waited for the words that would bind them. “I reject the bond.” The three words landed flat and final. For a second the clearing stayed silent. Then the bond tore. Pain ripped through Elara’s chest. Her knees buckled. She caught herself on the packed earth, fingers digging into the dirt. She reached for him through the bond out of pure habit and found only empty space. The warm pull was gone. Her vision blurred. She forced her head up. Kael looked at her without heat or apology. For half a second his gaze dropped to the faint crescent mark on her collarbone, and something unreadable passed across his face before it closed again. “Elara Voss is not strong enough to stand as Luna of Blackthorn. The pack needs strength. I will not risk our future on a mid-rank wolf whose blood has shown no power.” Whispers rose around the circle. Some faces turned away. Others watched with open curiosity. Elder Thorne nodded once, slow and satisfied. “The Alpha has spoken. The rejection stands. Elara Voss, you are stripped of rank and claim. Leave the territory by dawn.” Elara pushed herself upright. Her legs shook. She tasted blood where she had bitten her tongue. The quiet glance in the study three months ago meant nothing now. The years of making herself smaller meant nothing. She had changed herself for a man who looked at her and saw only weakness. Lucien moved through the crowd toward her, but two enforcers blocked his path. His voice carried low and hard. “Let me through. She is my sister.” Kael’s voice cut across the space. “Let her go alone. She leaves tonight.” Elara turned before anyone could see her face fully. She walked out of the circle of torchlight. Each step jarred the broken place in her chest. Behind her the ceremony continued as if she had never stood there. Pack members shifted back into place. Someone laughed low. The sound followed her into the trees. She did not stop at the edge of the clearing. She kept walking the dark path that led toward the boundary markers. The bond pain sat heavy and constant. When Kael’s voice rose once more from the platform, giving orders about the next steps for the pack, her body turned halfway toward the sound before she locked her muscles and forced herself forward again. Two years of answering to that voice did not disappear in a single night. At the first boundary stone she paused and looked back. The glow of the torches was small now. Kael’s silhouette remained on the platform. His fingers tightened once around the edge of the Claiming stone, then loosened. He did not glance her way. Elara wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and tasted salt. She had spent years believing that being good enough would make her chosen. Tonight had taught her otherwise. The forest closed around her as she crossed the line that marked the end of Blackthorn land. Behind her the pack howled once in formal acknowledgment of the Claiming. The sound did not include her. She walked until the lights disappeared. Somewhere in the dark her brother would try to find her. Somewhere the elders would already be discussing stronger candidates for Luna. Elara kept moving. She did not know yet where the northern roads led, only that she would not turn around. The birthmark on her collarbone burned once, sharper than before. For a brief moment the night sounds around her went completely silent, as if the forest itself had stopped to listen. Then the usual noises returned, and the mark settled into a low steady heat that had never been there before the rejection.
