Chapter 2 Lake Monster

Venom POV

"Venom, did you hear me? We are off the case" the captain repeated

"Yeah, I heard you the first time. And that's complete bullshit, are you f*****g kidding me Cap"

"Listen, I let you get away with a lot of s**t you do and say because you and your team are one of my best detectives, I've got in this shitty station but what I won't tolerate is the disrespect that you're displaying at me"

"Well, I don't know what to tell you because I'm not sorry for my reaction and if you're looking for me to except it and roll over then you're looking at the wrong person for that s**t"

"Venom! You will calm down and that's my final warning. Now, I understand you're upset you have every right to be for I'm not happy either about this situation"

"Why are we off the case? What are they hiding?"

The captain shrugged and said "I don't know and that's not our concern anymore"

"But Cap"

"No buts, now I gave you an official order this department is off the case and if you continue to investigate it, I will be forced to take your badge and put you on temporary suspension do you hear me Venom"

I just bit my bottom lip and nodded before saying "yes Captain"

"Good now you have a murder to solve Kevin will tell you what it is. Your dismissed"

I stormed out of the captain’s office before slamming the door behind me. I walked over to Kevin's desk to find out what we had. As he is telling me that a witness found our victim in the water with his heart missing, I gave Peri and TJ a call to meet us at the crime scene at Mocha Lake Park where the body was found. Once we arrived Peri, TJ, and Kevin rushed me about what happened in the captain’s office. I pondered over how Peri and TJ knew but then I suspect that Kevin called informing them about my talk with Cap.

"In short, we are off the Bethany Jones case. The official order from Cap which was officially commanded by the FBI" I explained

"Are you f*****g serious Ven?" Peri asked

"Yeah, I'm serious and if we go anywhere near the case, we will lose our badge"

"How is that they can just take a case from us?" TJ asked

"I don't know but right now let's just put a pause on that and solve the case in front us for now" I ordered

"So, officer what do we got here?" I asked

"Well, his name is Jason Smith 25 years of age, and from what the witness says that he comes out here to teach his grandson how to fish when the body got caught on his fishing and he thought it was a big fish just pull up our victim" he explained

"Tara, do you have a time of death and possible cause of death?"

"Well, the cause is his missing heart, and I would put time of death about 5 days ago due to the decomposition and the fact that the little creators started eating Mr. Smith but I will have more accurate information once I put him the table"

"Kevin, look around for any cameras that date back 5 to 6 days and see if our victim and or possible suspect was here canvas the seen for any footprints etc." I ordered he nodded and went to work on it

"Peri, find where he lives and next of kin inform them of their loss and see if they can share anything about Mr. Smith"

"Copy that" Peri acknowledged

"TJ, find out where he works and see if he has any enemies"

"Sure, thing boss" he said

While everyone has their task I'm going to follow up with Tara and what caused our Vic's heartless demise.

Peri POV

I searched on our police database to find where our Vic lives and headed over there. As I'm driving the neighborhood, I can see that he lived in a very nice neighborhood. I pulled up at his house where one of our officers was standing there waiting to let me in the home. I walked in to see that he lived very well. I see that he is also a fisherman but don't believe he is a professional, looks like more of a hobby. I don't see any type of foul play. As I'm looking around, I hear a dispute between someone and our officer outside. I made it to the front door see a woman standing there yelling and asking why she can't go in her own home that's when I stepped in to introduce myself.

"Ma'am I'm Detective Peri what seems to be the problem?"

"As I was telling the officer here, I want to go inside my house"

"And you are Ma'am?"

"My name is Anna Smith"

"Are you related to a Jason Smith?"

"Jason Smith is my husband, why? What happened to my husband?"

I told the officer to let her through and then I escorted Mrs. Smith to the couch and informed her that her husband was found dead this morning. She burst into tears and I'm not that emotional except for Venom and my team outside of that I can be careless of human emotions maybe it's the demon in me.

"Mrs. Smith your husband been died 5days ago. Is there a reason you haven't noticed him missing or anything?"

"Well, he was on a 5-day fishing retreat at Mocha Lake Park that he takes every year around this time of the year and was supposed to come home tomorrow"

"When was the last time you heard from your husband?"

"6 days ago, when he first arrived, he would go radio silent when he is out there. You know be one with nature and the water"

"Ok was there anyone that he went with to this retreat?"

"No, he usually just meets other fisherman up there to bond with" I ended my questioning and gave the wife my card if she had any more information that she would remember later and headed back to the station.

TJ POV

From what my research found our Vic works as a bartender at the 4 Dimes Casino. I walked scanning the place and I saw a shot girl, so I pulled her aside and asked her where the manager was. She told me his name was Ronald and that he was sitting at the bar.

"Ronald?"

"Yeah, who wants to know?"

"Detective Troy that's who" once he saw that I was the police he quickly straighten up and changed his tune.

"What can I do for detective?"

"Do you know Jason Smith?"

"Yeah, he's one of my best bartenders here, but he's not here he is on his yearly fishing retreat at least that's what he said"

"Jason is dead Ronald"

Ronald was in shock, so I gave him a minute to process the news before I asked him a few more questions. After finishing up the interview I gave Mr. Ronald my card and told him to call me if he knows anymore and took my leave.

Venom POV

"Hey Tara, did you find anything official off our Vic"

"Shhhh I'm doing my evil juju exorcist right now, so we won't have bad mojo or spirits floating around"

I just looked at her for a few minutes then asked: "Exorcist!" She looks up at me with those spidery puppy eyes.

"Tara, I need your report about our Vic here preferably like now"

"Fine I guess I can finish later" she said while pouting a bit.

"Mr. Jason here wasn't killed due to the missing out his chest, he drowned first then something ripped his heart out postmortem"

"How do you know something killed him and not someone"

"Because there is acid residue around the area where the heart used to be. Also, the acid is not man made, it's a type of body fluid that was used to be able to punch through anything like say a human body"

"So, you’re telling me that the Suspect that killed this man is Fae"

"Not just any Fae a reptile one to be exact because who ever took this man's heart left behind a scale, once I send it up to labs, I will know exactly what reptile type Fae we are dealing with"

As Tara was finishing up with her report of her findings, I got a call saying we have another body that just floated to the surface. I waved to thanks Tara for her hard work and drove to the crime scene.

"f**k! What have we got?" I asked

"Male, 29 years of age, name Dan Bird, and from his wallet he is married with 2 kids" the officer on the scene said

I walked over to see it's the same as our last victim a hole in the chest where the heart should be. What the hell is going on here? This time we found the victim at the opposite end where our first victim was found. Had one of the Emmys take the body to Dr Tara autopsy lab for further analysis. Let's see if this from the same suspect that killed our first victim.

"Hey officer, who is the victim’s wife?"

"Not wife it's a husband"

"Whatever give me the name and address"

"Yes, detective right away"

I knocked on the door of Mr. Bird's home and his husband answered inviting me in.

"Mr. Bird"

"Please call me Carol and can I do for you?"

"Ok Carol my name is Detective Venom and I just wanted to let you know that your husband Dan was found dead earlier today"

"Wait what?" In shock he sat down on the couch and began to cry. I handed him a tissue and then began my questioning.

"Do you know when the last time you spoke or saw your husband?"

"4-days ago he we on his fishing retreat at Mocha Lake Park"

"Does he go frequently?"

"Yes, every year around this time of the year"

"Does your husband have any enemies?"

"No, we run a family business called Birdie construction" I took a picture of our first victim out of my pocket and showed Mr. Carol the photo.

"Do you recognize this man?"

"No, Dan never goes with others he rather fish on his own where he can be one with nature and water"

I had no further questions for Mr. Carol, so I gave him my card and headed back to the station. Once I made it back to the station, I sat my team down and we put all our evidence on the board.

"Ok so these 2 Vics don't have work, social circle in common but they do have the love for fishing. Both go every year around this time of the year to Mocha Lake Park for their fishing retreat and somehow die just after 24 hrs. of being there." Kevin reiterated before continuing "also there were no footprints at either crime scenes which tells me that they weren’t killed where they were found"

"Tara just called and said that the second and first victim were killed by the same Fae reptile creature" I added

"Maybe the Mocha Lake Park is their hunting grounds" Peri suggested

"Nah, it couldn't be because from what I dug up women go there too and none of them have floated up stream. No, if my memory serves me right for reptile type Fae this time of the year is mating season and around that time the males get aggressive and deadly around other males" TJ pointed out

"Ok, let's say it's mating season why the hearts?" I asked

"Because female reptiles eat human or animal hearts as a type of conception pill like to help them get pregnant when this season rolls around; however, the males are the ones that hunt for the hearts." Kevin answered

"But not all reptile species are like that so which one is this?" I asked

Tara walks in and says: "a lizard man or a poisonous lizard man to be exact" she says

"That's right" TJ excitedly agrees

"Ok, who runs the retreats" I asked

"It was an old couple Name Donna and Ted Room till about 6 months ago when they sold the Retreat to a Tom Madler" Kevin researched

"Ok, that makes sense because our two victims went to the retreat every year around this time, and nothing happened then six months ago the place got a new owner and now we have two dead bodies. We need to question him, Peri you’re with me, Kevin and TJ y'all back us up and Tara"

"If you can get me a sample of DNA, I can match it to our other victims" Tara stated

I nodded and we headed out to the Mocha Lake Park to catch this bastard. Once we arrived, we got our guns locked and loaded just in case meaning that we can always use our abilities but for paperwork’s sake we bring the guns. The first thing we did was knock on the door and announced who we were, but no one came to the door. Peri and I snuck around back while the guys waited at the front. Peri picked locked the back door and then we unlocked the front door to let the guys in. For the human law you need a warrant which we have, it's just at the car. That's only for paperwork’s sake, it's give us permission to search his house and question him for we have probable cause at least that’s what our captain sold to the judge. So, I told the guys to check upstairs while Peri and I checked the basement. When got lower down the stairs Peri and I could smell this horrible smell on death, it was disgusting. I used my heat signature and saw that someone was on the other side of this wall meaning they were just right behind this door. I looked at Peri and I counted to 3 to give her the signal to kick the door down with me.

"Freeze police" I yelled. The guy froze for a second and we were able to confirm it was Tom Madler. This dude had a stash of heart all around. After a second he ran through the back lower patio.

"Peri radio the guys I'm going after this b***h" she nodded, and I ran off chasing Tom Madler.

I ran after him using my heat signature ability I was able to stay on him. Then he shifted into his reptile form and jumped into the water. That didn't stop me because I shifted into my snake form and jumped in before completely shifting. Once in the water I sped through the water like a speed boat and caught up to him wrapping him with my tail squeezing almost the life out of him before he went unconscious, and I was able to drag him out the water. Once he was fully unconscious, he shifted back into his human form and we were able to put cuffs on him, they were specifically made for his type of Fae. The guys took him for booking for our kind and left to go get ready for my date with Rick this evening. I arrived at the restaurant and Rick was already there with a table for us.

"Hey baby" I said before giving him a kiss.

We talked, we laughed, it was an all-around good date.

"Baby, listen I love you so much"

"I love you too"

"But Lexie moved back to town"

"Wait, Lexie your ex-succubus that left you for a big d**k Minotaur?"

"Umm yes and she wants us to get back together"

"You told her no, right? You're in a committed relationship with me Rick"

"No, I told her yes because she wants us to try again and to give her another chance and you know she was my first love and I told her I would give us another shot"

I just blanked out and as Rick was calling my name I finally came to and punched him dead in his jaw knocking him and the chair he was sitting over. Rick slammed hard on to the floor. Staring at the floor and then staring at me in shock while holding his jaw in loss for words.

"Thanks for wasting my time and fighting for us you half breed piece of s**t" then I stormed off heading to my favorite bar. The underground Fae pub where only fae species are allowed to be there but in the human's eyes it's members only I sat at the bar drinking my pain away when a familiar voice greeted me just to find out it was Rick's dad Jeffrey or Jeff for short.

"What do you want? Here to plead for your ass wipe of a son?"

"Umm no, I come here to unwind when I had a long day at work. I just so happen to see you which I was not expecting because my son told me y'all were on a date"

"Emphasis on were on a date till he dumped me for his ex-Lexie"

"The Lexie that left him for that Minotaur d**k?"

"The one and only"

"Venom I'm sorry my son is blind loser for letting a beautiful sexy feisty woman like you go for a succubus hoe like Lexie" We kept drinking almost the night the away laughing and talking.

"Hey, want to go somewhere quiet to talk?"

"Sure, what do you have in mind?"

"How about my place?" I suggested as he gave me a mischievous and charming smile showing me that he approves of my suggestion of a relocation.

Having my arms and legs wrapped around him as we stared into each other's eyes, we began kissing passionately, both our tongues fighting for dominance. We rushed upstairs to my room with our mouths still exploring each other’s taste of alcohol and more alcohol. I took one hand and rubbed his bold head as he slammed me against the wall. The next thing I know he rips my dress I wore off my body. While I had my legs wrapped around him, I snatched off his shirt and blazer as he was dropping trouser. Passionately making out as he lines his hug d**k with my entrance and shoves his d**k deep inside me with one quick push and I have to say his d**k is bigger than Rick’s. I gasped at the sudden invasion then quickly replaced with pleasure and ecstasy.

"Oh God Jeff f**k!" I moaned

He kept thrusting back and forth hard and rough, which is what I needed after the day I had. f**k that slow s**t I need to feel every emotion this man has for me for his kind can give you the exact emotion needed at that moment.
