DARKSIDE of the FAE WORLD

Venom POV (Flashback to the Car accident) We were driving along because it was sibling day. It is the day we both took off work every year for the whole day and spent it with each other. My sister Snow for she is an albino snake like our grandmother and the oldest. She works in the immigration agency for the Fae community. Her job intel of safely relocating different creatures like us to a better environment, making sure they have jobs, ID cards, paperwork that say they are legal to be here, the list goes on. As for me, I'm the Lead Detective in our homicide unit for the Fae community. In short, I catch the bad guys human or Fae. Both of us keep the Fae world hidden from the human population. We have been doing this since we were kids and every year, I would look forward to it. As we were about to cross the inner section a truck blew the red light and crashed into us hard which sent us toppling over to where the roof of the car was upside down. I was starting to come too when I saw that me and my sister were hanging upside down thanks to having seatbelts. As I was trying to break free the man that hit us came over and shot my sister right in front of me with a silencer. I tried to grab my gun to shoot back when was already on my side of the car with the gun in my face and right when he was going to pull the trigger, I hear sirens from the police car and an ambulance which scared the man off. (End of flashback) "Ahhh!" I yelled while breathing heavily wiping the sweat off my face. I wake up reliving that moment almost every night and it happened a year ago. Ugh, it's 4:30am luckily, I need to go pee. When I walked past the mirror, I had to do a double take and truly look at myself. Well damn, I need to wipe my face. I look like I went bobbing for apples at harvest festival or something. As I'm splashing water on my face, I hear a noise coming from downstairs. So, I grabbed my gun and loaded that b***h up because who ever had the balls to break into my house has a death wish they want me to grant. Once I got downstairs, I saw Peri roaming my fridge. "Peri! What the f**k are you doing?" I asked an annoyance "Making a sandwich" "I can see that; don't you have your own house full of food? Why are you going through mines don't you know I could've shot you?" "Umm 1. Like yeah right 2. Your food is better quality than mines and 3. We have a body, and I came to get you" "Why didn't you call?" "I did emphasis on walking in your house" I just rolled my eyes and waved my hands in defeat. I arrived back in my room I got ready in my black tank, dark red leather jacket, jeans, and combat boots. Then once I pulled my dreads black in a ponytail, we headed to the crime scene. I'm glad that Peri was able to make me at least some coffee while she was rummaging through my refrigerator for a sandwich because I would've been one cranky woman. "What have we got?" I asked "According to her ID her name is Bethany Jones, 35 years of age, she was shot point blank in the head and by the smell of her she Fae" Kevin reported "Do we have time of death?" I asked "I calculated she's been dead for about 12 hours and by the looks at the bullet hole she was shot execution style, but I'll confirm once I get her on my table" Tara responded "What else have we got?" I asked "We have right here by the motion of traffic down this alley only two people were down here. This footprint is too small to be a man, so I am assuming it belongs to our victim and the other footprints were definitely a man" TJ pointed out before continuing “Also the shell casing is for a FNX-45 Tactical but I'll confirm back at the lab when review the bullet" I nodded at TJ and turned to Peri asking her to dig up everything she can about Ms. Bethany Jones because someone was hell bent on killing this woman. Back at the station Peri had a report for me. "So, Ms. Bethany Jones is pretty much a squeaky-clean person. She volunteers at the homeless shelter, reads to kids at the library every Friday and does Pilates every morning before work. She lives alone, has no roommates and no parents, also she works as an office assistant for ICE agency" “How long has she been working for the agency?” “2 years or so” "Ok get her address and we will check out her place, what else you got for me Kev?" "I hacked into her phone records, and she called this number 313-420-7780 on multiple occasions all the way up to about a year ago then radio silence until 2 nights ago" "Is it traceable?" I asked "No, it's a burner phone" "That's weird, how does a burner phone that was last operated a year ago somehow reactivate a year later? Well trace the last known tower it pinged from, and we will go from there" I commanded Kevin nodded and got right on it. "So, after analyzing the bullet and the shell casing it is indeed an FNX-45 Tactical that killed our victim; however, when I took a closer look at the bullet it showed marks on it that proved that a silencer was also used" TJ jumped in When I heard the word silencer come out of TJ's mouth, I instantly zoned out remembering how my sister was killed. Next thing I knew I heard Peri calling my name then I snapped back to reality. "Hey, girl you good?" Peri asked "Yeah, I'm good Peri" I assured her. "Ok, well TJ you go pay ICE a little visit, Peri and I will check her place, and Kevin once you find out where that burner phone was last active go check it out" I said before Peri, and I left for Bethany's place. TJ POV I arrived at the ICE headquarters and was instantly greeted by the receptionist named Molly. I instantly noticed that she has loads of water bottles around her desk and cheerful attitude she would definitely be a Nix half human half fish. In some story books that humans created now a days she would be considered a mermaid. "Good morning, I'm Detective Troy from the homicide unit and I have a few questions for you" I introduced "Sure, how can I help you detective?" She asked "You know this woman?" I asked while showing molly the picture of Bethany. When scanning the photo, her eyes got big and were starting to get fidgety and her cheerful demeanor disappeared. She handed the photo back and said "No, I have never seen her before" "I can smell that you're lying, and I don't take kindly to those who lie to me" showing off my predator eyes "Listen I've never seen her before, and you need to leave" Within a few minutes an ICE Agent walked, and this person was part of the Lizard family but not a dragon. I would say he was a newt. "Do we have a problem out here Mr.?" He asked "Detective Troy, and I was just asking Ms. Molly if she knew this girl for, she uses to be an employee of yours" I handed the picture to the agent and stated that he had never seen her either. I just nodded and expressed my apologies for disturbing them and went on my way after handing my card to the receptionist. I called Venom to give her an update. "Hey TJ, what did you get for me?" "Well, they were all saying that they had never seen her before but when I showed the receptionist the photo it was like she wanted to say something but was too scared to I gave her my card" "Ok keep an eye on the receptionist because there is no way for someone to not know a woman who has worked there for 2 years something not adding" "What do you want to do boss?" A name I call her since she recruited me. "Link up with Kevin and I want a full report on her time there since no one is willing to freely give you answers" she said before hanging up. Venom POV "Was that TJ?" Peri asked "Yeah, apparently no one is talking and is pretending that she never worked there" I explained Peri gave me the same confused look on her face that I had on mine. As we pondered over the information after speaking with TJ we arrived at Bethany's apartment. We had the Office Manager lead us to her unit after showing bethany’s photo to him. Apparently, she paid her rent-on time every month since she moved in 5 years ago but these past 2 months, she has been late which is not normal for her. As we made it to her unit, we saw that the door was cracked open. We instructed the manager to step back and stay behind while we had our guns drawn ready to shoot at any bastard retarded enough to shoot at us first. Peri and I slowly walked in and began scanning the place I went left Peri went right. I was checking the bathroom and bedroom while Peri was scanning the living room and kitchen. "All clear on my end" I yelled to Peri "Same here!" She responded "Did Bethany Jones ever have company over or crazy exes?" I asked the manager "No, she was always alone she likes to stay to herself she was one of my best tenants" Manager answered We dismissed the manager and began looking around because the way this apartment is looking someone was looking for something they thought she had. Her apartment was just trashed someone was looking for something. "What on earth were they looking for? The way I see it she didn't have much for someone to be living here for 5 years. Also how was she able to live here for 5 years and only have 2 years of income. " Peri pointed out "My thoughts exactly, whatever this woman was hiding or hiding from these people were desperate to find it" I stated while taking pictures of the mess they made. As we kept scanning her apartment Peri called me over. "Venom I found something that you're going to want to see" I made my way to the bedroom where Peri was at when she handed me a picture of Bethany and it looks like she was in Europe which means she was an immigrant. I continue to look at more photos when I see one with her and my sister in it. "What is your sister doing with our murder victim?" Peri asked "I have no idea" Kevin POV I finally pinpointed where the burner phone was last active, and it led me to a small Cafe like a mom-and-pop shop and I can tell it’s meant for creatures like us. I walked in and sat at table when a waitress came up to me. "Hello, my name is Willow and I’ll be your waitress today. So, what can I get handsome?" "Have you seen this woman here before?" I asked after showing her the picture of Bethany. "Yeah, about 2 days ago she used to come in here every morning after Pilates class. She would always order a large coffee with sweet honey cream and sugar because she is..." She stopped herself "Don't worry baby girl I'm Fae my name is Detective Firestone" I reassured her by shifting slightly to where only she can see and no humans unless we won't them too can see my true form. "Ok, she's a honeybee" "Aren't honeybees supposed to be with their colony?" I asked "That's what I said but apparently she escaped from her colony" "Have any idea as to why?" "All she said was that it wasn't safe and left with her coffee" I then proceeded to ask Ms. Willow did she see anyone with her 2 days ago and she said “yeah, she was here with a woman who kept ordering water, pretty blond hair blues eyes" "Oh really" "Yes sir, I didn't think much of it for I thought it was just dehydration or something" I thanked the waitress and gave her a tip for her troubles. I called Venom but Peri answered the phone. "Hey Peri, where's Venom?" "She's here taking pictures of the scene here which we will explain once back at the station" "Ok, you want me to report when we get back or now?" "Just head back to the station and we will go over what we found then" "Copy that" I said before hanging up and heading back to the station. Venom POV "Alright let's see what we got" I said "Ok, she was living in apartment for 5 years but only been working at the ICE agency for 2 years, has no other work history. Then from what Kevin has found she is a Honeybee with no colony which is not normal for every worker honeybee needs a queen and colony. But for some reason Bethany wasn't safe at her old colony." Peri reiterated "Now the question is what does this have to do with my sister Snow?" I asked no one in particular "Also, a mysterious woman blond hair and blues who also gets dehydrated quickly was the last to see Bethany Jones alive" Kevin mentioned "Wait did you say a woman that’s blond hair and blue eyes and gets dehydrated quickly?" TJ asked "Yeah, why?" Kevin wonders "Because the Receptionist at ICE name Molly matches that description and gets dehydrated quickly, I can tell by the 20 or more water bottles around her desk and trash" TJ remembered "So, you think this Molly girl might be the one that met up with our victim at that cafe?" I asked just for clarification "I believe so boss" "Ok, you and Peri go bring in Ms. Molly" Once TJ and Peri grabbed their jackets and headed out to go pick up Molly, I went back to look over the pictures and evidence we had gathered when my phone went off, just to see it was my boyfriend, Rick. Rick is half Incubus and half human. His mom was him and his dad is the incubus which is the male version of a succubus. Sometimes the human race will find out about our kind and will mate with us or have already mate with us and find out what we are after the fact. Rick’s mom was one of those humans that found out after the fact but still stead around until she died after giving birth to Rick. I stepped away to see what the reason for his call was for. “Hey baby, what’s up?” I spoke “Hey Venom, I wanted to know if you were busy tonight because I wanted to take you out” “Yeah, I’m pretty busy with a case but I can make myself available for you babe” I assured him before he told me where to meet him at and that our reservations are at 8pm. I gave him the ok letting him know that I was fine with the time and got off the phone to focus back on the case. A few hours later Peri and TJ called saying that Molly is in the wind. I was pissed off because how did she just up and disappeared like that. “What the f**k! Where did she go? Did any of her co-workers see or know anything?” “They said that she clocked out for her lunch break and never returned” Peri stated Going back and forth TJ and Peri on the phone I two guys in suits walk into my Captain’s office which concerns me. I told TJ and Peri to canvas the area and let me know what they find. They agreed and hung up the phone. Kevin walked over to me to find out who the guys in suits were, but I just shrugged and sat at my desk watching them. The mystery guys left the captain called me into her office and that wasn’t a good sign. “Cap, who were those guys?” I asked “That was the FBI Venom” “Ok, that’s nice, now did those Asshats what?” “First calm down and slow your role, second They are the FBI and third we are officially off the case”
