Chapter 3 Animal Control

(Flashback)

Third party POV

Ok I have several lit candles, a bowl of mixed ingredients atop a Baphomet symbol, which is a goat head inside a pentagram. I hope this so-called witch is right about this summoning spell and now to do the incantation.

"Ad ligandum eos pariter eos coram me!"

(To likewise bind them before me!)

Venom POV

Ugh, God damn why does my head hurts so much? Man, what did I do last night?

"That would be me sweetheart" Jeff answered

"Ahh!" I screamed before falling out the bed flat on my face. I quickly recovered and covered myself with the sheets from my bed.

"Wait, did we have s*x last night?"

"Yes, and may I say it was very good for me. I don't know why my son wanted to give you up for a slut like Lexie but his loss"

"Umm, thanks I guess"

"Breakfast?"

"Coffee thank you"

"Oh, and your phone has been going off and you received a text message from Peri"

I grabbed my phone off my nightstand and saw that my team has been trying to reach me. Oh, s**t we have a case ok I need to hurry up and get ready.

"Ok, umm we will talk about this thing at a later time right now I have to go to work" I expressed before kindly shoeing him away. He got the hint and left without a fuss.

Once I finally arrived at the crime scene Peri bum rushed me at the entrance.

"What happened with you we have been calling you?"

"Umm, I was tied up"

"With Rick?"

"No, more like with his dad" I said before speed walking to look at the scene.

Let me tell you this it's horrifying. Body parts and guts all over the place, whatever happened here it wasn't pretty. As I scanned the place it just gets better and better from a terrible situation.

"Tara talk to me"

"Well, where should I start? Should I start at the ear on the ceiling or the foot under the couch?"

"Sarcasm doesn't suit your sweet demeanor Tara"

"Once I collect all the puzzle pieces of body's I'll have more to give you but until then all I can say that it was some type of animal attack, and the victim was female"

As we are bagging and tagging things to take back, I hear a commotion outside. So, naturally I wanted to go say hello and maybe punch the person in the throat for being a disturbance at my crime.

"What hell is going on out here?"

"This man is yelling trying to get in and wondering happened to a woman name Alisa Mills" the officer explained

"Hey Sir, who are you?"

"My name is Gus Mills, and this is our house, now what happened to my wife?" He demanded

"I'm sorry Sir but your wife brutally killed by an animal attack" I explained

He just dropped to his knees and sobbed. Ugh, this is the part of job I hate the most and that's that crying s**t. I know I should be more heartfelt when a loved one is killed but I'm not that type maybe because I'm a cold-blooded snake. Nah, that would be stereotypical of me to think that of myself, no, I'm just a straight up b***h that gets the job done. But the people don't need to know that so for now let's appeal to their emotions, let them know we care and that we are on their side. Damn I really do sound like a heartless b***h right now. Yeah, it's the breakup I'm still not over it even though I'm not a crier it still hurts because when I actually show some emotions and you stomp on it like you're killing a bug I'm a bit bitter for a minute and right now is one of those bitter days.

"Sir, we need you to come to the station and answer a few questions about your wife" I said

"Umm, sure no problem" he replied

I mean I was just being nice because at the end of the day he had no choice he was coming either the easy way or the hard way. I'm just glad he chose the easy way because I just bought these new boots, and I didn't feel getting them bloody already. Yeah, I'm pretty bitter right now and can't be trusted with the questioning process so I'll just have Kevin and TJ interview him because I'm ready to punch someone. Once we got back to the station Kevin and TJ took the interview with the husband while Peri is bugging me about what I said at the crime scene.

"So, you mean to tell me that you slept with Jeffrey Rick's dad?" Peri asked

"Yes, that's correct"

"And may I ask why?"

"Because I was drunk from when Rick broke up with me to get back with his ex that succubus Lexie"

"Wait the Lexie that left Rick for a Minotaur d**k?"

"Yup, that Lexie"

"What a b***h! Can I go skin him alive"

"No, he's not worth it"

"Well, what did you do?"

"Why do I always have to do something"

"Because you don't take kindly to people wasting your time and playing with your heart"

"Ok, fine I punched him in the jaw which he was not expecting and went to the Fae bar where I ran into his dad and the next thing, I can remember I'm waking up naked and with a huge headache"

"That's one way to take out your anger and frustration lol" she laughed before continuing "So, the dad huh" she teased

"Shut up" as I said that Kevin and TJ came back from speaking with the husband Gus Mills.

They both informed me that Mr. Mills works the morning shift at a candy factory. Last time he saw his wife alive she was pulling up and he was pulling out. Mrs. Mills is the night shift nurse at the Moment Retirement home. They barely see each other except on the weekends. Everyone apparently loved Alisa and he doesn't know who would want to hurt her. Yeah, I'm not convinced that no one wants to kill Mrs. Mills.

"Kevin, I need you to go question the workers at that Retirement home and TJ go canvas the neighborhood and ask the neighbors if they saw or heard anything." I ordered before dismissing them.

Once the boys left Tara called says she has something for us. Peri and I arrived at Tara's lab where she began to explain her findings. For starter the chewed-up body was indeed female and from the DNA testing she was Mrs. Alisa Mills. She also expressed that this was animal attack however the creatures weren't like your regular pit-bull, Rottweiler, or a wolf that snuck into the house.

"Whatever killed this woman it wasn't meant for the human world" Tara finished

"Are you telling me that someone was stupid enough to summon a creature here to kill this woman?" Peri asked

"It's possible but I'm not well versed in summoning magic or magic period so I will leave that up to you to figure out" Tara stated We left the lab and sat at our desk when I get a call and it's from Jeff.

"Hey Jeffrey, what's up” the moment I said that Peri drags her chair to my desk and sat there listening to me have a conversation with the dad I slept with.

"You told me to call you so we can talk about last night"

"Oh, s**t yeah that's right I did, I'm sorry for that"

"Did I catch you at a bad time?"

"Just a little bit it's ok"

"How about I take you out tonight and we can talk then"

I put him on pause "hold on" and then turned to Peri.

"He wants to take me out so we can talk about last night" I explained to Peri

"Then go out with him, s**t this might be a friend with benefits type of thing no strings attached and it's what you need to get over that half breed Rick" she said before asking "Is the father bigger down there then the son?"

I nodded yes and she encouraged me even more to take him up on his dinner invitation. I took Jeff off hold and told him that dinner would nice, and he said "I'll text you the time and place" then hung up. Man, what is my world coming to.

TJ POV

I'm walking the neighborhood going door to door asking the neighbors about the Mr. And Mrs. Mills. So far nothing but good things and how no one would dare want to hurt Alisa. As I continue to scan the more of the neighborhood, I see a strange man lurking behind the bushes of the Mills' home. I yelled to let him know you've been, and he just ends up running. Which is fine by me I love to hunt down my prey it gives me a surge of energy. I typed into my sabretooth speed and caught him by close lining him.

"Wow, that was fun thanks for being so entertaining but now I have a few questions back at the station so you're coming with me" I instructed.

Once I got back to the station and had one of the officers put him in our interrogation room, I informed Venom that I caught him lurking around the victim’s home. She patted my back which she does to tease me for I'm the youngest in the group but only she can do it. Venom and Peri went with me to the interrogation room. They stood behind the one sighted mirror room listening while I question our suspect.

"I see that this is not your first-time lurking around their home Pete Davis" he says nothing

"You know you violated your restraining order that Mrs. Mills put out on you correct. So, what you summoned creatures to kill her because she wouldn't love you back or was that attack meant for the husband"

"I didn't do anything; this was my first time being that close to the home since the restraining order was put in place. I would never hurt Alisa; I loved her it was her husband that didn't"

"What do you mean by that?"

"He always yells at her, tells her how worthless she is and one time he even hit her when she got home from work all because her job kept her there 30 minutes later than normal."

"And you saw all this while being a stalker that you are"

"Yes, he even said that you're of no use to me alive but soon that will all change"

While processing what he just said I get a text from Peri "Check his nails if their black or turning black then he dealt with black magic"

I demanded to Pete to show me his hands and the color was completely normal, so he was telling the truth about not using magic.

Peri POV

So, this stalker fellow didn't summon those beasts to kill Alisa. I looked at Venom trying to figure out what is our next move. She said to call Kevin for an update on the Victims job.

"Hey Kev, what did you find out about Mr. and Mrs. Mills employment?"

"Well, apparently Mrs. Mills has been coming to work tired, been wearing heavy makeup, and some of her co-workers’ caught glimpses of bruises on her arms"

"f**k so this so this fake ass loving husband was beating his wife."

"3-days before his wife was killed Mr. Mills called off work during those 3-days and was seen at the hookah lounge called the covenant"

Oh f**k, that's where those dark witches hand out at. These bitches really broke the rules about exposure to our kind. I hung up on Kevin and gave the update to Venom.

"Alright let's go pay these hoes a little visit" she sneered

We arrived at the Hookah lounge and asked for the witch that saw Gus Mills. She rolled her eyes and went back to doing what she was doing. I had a problem with that type of disrespect and let's just say I don't handle it very well. I grabbed the witch by her throat with my partly shifted claws and only 3 of my fox tails started showing.

"b***h, you don't know who I am for you smell of newbie and I'm the demon you don't want to be on bad terms with so take this as a lesson learned. Now, I'm not asking you I'm telling you go get the witch that saw this man on the photo, or I will eat your soul" the young witch nodded her head fast and I let her throat go dropping her to the floor

"See this is why we are best friends" Venom stated with a sly grin on her face. I just laughed and that's when the young witch came back to escort us to the room the witch, we asked for was in.

"My name is Onyx I'm the leader of this covenant. What can I do for you oh great Nine Tail Fox and friend?" She introduced

"Yeah, have you seen this man in this picture?" I asked

"Yes, I have, he came here asking for a spell to summon someone to kill his wife. I told him that he is just a human, and a summoning spell is not meant for his type. He was determined to get the spell from me and warned him that there will be a price he would have to pay, and he didn't care he just wanted to kill his wife."

"Did he say why he wanted to kill his wife?"

"About she lost her value and that she was better useful dead than alive. So, I gave him the spell"

"Thanks" I said before grabbing her arm and using my power to burn a curse mark on her shoulder

"What the f**k did you just do to me?"

"I put a curse on you. Now the next time you or the witches of your covenant help another human cause chaos and expose us it will suck your life force till there's no more and you die"

"You b***h!"

Venom and I laughed and walked away to go search Mills place again for where he did the summoning at. We're scanning the house and so far, nothing then I see something glowing under the wall. I get a closer look to see it's a secret passageway that was well hidden if it wasn't for the light, we would've never found it. Venom used her heat signature ability to see if one was behind the wall and there was. So, we decided to reintroduce ourselves and we kicked the secret door down and that startled Mr. Mills.

"What the hell! How did you get in here?" He asked

"Through that weak thing you call a door" I spat

"Well, you won't so cocky once I release the devil dogs" he spat before continuing "ad ligandum eos pariter eos coram me!"

Once he finished the chant 3 devil dogs, but their proper name is Hell Hounds, but tomato potato rose from the spell circle.

"Kill them" he commanded

Then the dogs charged at us in high speed, but I wasn't worried they low level demons and in human terms just puppies. I told Venom I got this, and she just stepped back and guarded the door so that scum bag doesn't escape. I planted myself and my native tongue for demons with rank.

"böetk" I commanded

"kausta" I instructed

The hounds came and sat by my side waiting for my next command. No human can truly control a demon if a much higher up demon is around to overthrow them. Gus Mills was shocked and angry for he didn't understand what just happened. Venom just shook her head and laughed because she knows how powerful I am.

"How did you do that? I summoned them they are supposed to be under my control" he spat

I just slowly stalked closer to him backing him into a corner of the room.

"You are nothing to a true blooded demon" my eyes glowing red to show the difference between me and him.

Fear plastered all over his face to the point this man literally s**t himself which is disgusting but satisfying at the time. I transported the hounds back to the gates of hell where they belong, and we took Mr. Mills into custody. We got back to the station and began to question him.

Venom POV

My girl Peri is the s**t a true badass. The funny part is she's the calm one between me and her but if you piss her off you will see a side that would make the devil piss in fear. I took lead of the interrogation and let's just say he was singing like a songbird. He admitted to getting the spell from the witch to kill his wife for the insurance money. What type of s**t is that? You kill the one person you promise to love and protect for paper green I swear humans are just the worst well at least not all of them.

"Well, Mr. Mills since like dabbling in the supernatural, an area you have no knowledge of we are going to send you to a place where you can do all the dabbling you want with our kind let's see if you survive" I spat while showing my snake eyes and a mischievous grin

The fear plastered on his face gave me such satisfaction. I had the officers take him away. Once the paperwork was done, I waved to everyone goodbye, and I met up with Jeff at a bar. We hugged and sat down at booth and ordered a drink.

"I'm just going to get straight to the point. Last night though it was fun and amazing it can't happen again"

"Ok, but is it because I'm Rick's dad?"

"Yeah, I just don't feel right f*****g you regardless of what your son did to me"

"You're a good one Venom but if you change your mind and decide to let go and need help to release you know where to find me" Jeff said and gave her a gentle kiss on her lips and walked out the bar.

I made it home when I see an envelope taped to my door. Before walking in the house, I opened the envelope to receive a picture of my sister Snow and the Victim from the case we were taken off Bethany Jones. Attached to the picture was a note from my sister:

My dear little sister if you're reading this then something terrible has happened to me. I don't know why I am writing this, because I really hope that this letter never gets to you. You are the person I know I could turn to when I needed help - you are the person I looked at when I needed to smile, and you are the person I went to when I needed a hug. On September 17, 1991, at 3am was the day you came into this world and turned it upside-down. My rebellious baby sister that always got into trouble, but it was always to stand up for what is right, and I hope you keep that fighting spirit and fight for what's right I'm so proud of you and I love you.
