Chapter 15: Zombie Couple

After Lucy changed back to her black shirt and camouflage pants outfit, the three of them started to head out of the underground shelter and back to the surface.

Nicole also wore a similar outfit as Lucy while Luke wore the same black shirt and pants with tactical gear.

He had a sniper rifle on his back and several handguns strapped to his chest, leg, and behind his waist.

"Take care! Please return home safely!"

Mily shouted from behind them as they got into the elevator.

Luke froze for a moment before returning to normal, not bothering to reply at all.

How long has it been since someone said those words to him...?

While Luke was being silent, Lucy turned to look at Nicole up and down.

Nicole felt her gaze was weird and asked.

"W-what? Is something wrong?"

"You smell unpleasant."

"H-huh!?"

Nicole snapped back.

"Hey! I take a shower at least two times a day! You're the one who smells like a corpse!"

"I may be a corpse but I am still pure unlike you."

"..."

Nicole was speechless.

She was confused at first but figured out what Lucy had meant. Seeing the expressionless mockery on Lucy's face started to tick her off.

Just as she was about to start arguing with the zombie, they both heard Luke's voice.

"Enough. We're here. Stop fooling around."

The doors opened and they were once again brought back to the surface.

Outside, there were a few zombies loitering about as they walked slowly without a care in the world.

"Lucy."

"Understood."

Lucy immediately knew what Luke meant as she started to dash to the nearest zombie while holding a knife.

With a single s***h, she beheaded the zombie and began to harvest the brain and the heart, throwing it into a black sack that she held.

Despite irritated by the zombie girl Lucy, Nicole can't help but admire her power and flawless killing. She was indeed different from the rest of the zombies.

Luke's voice snapped her back to reality.

"Stop daydreaming. From now on, you will also be doing that."

"E-eh? But..."

"What are you afraid of? You're now immune to the virus on a certain level. You should also have enhanced strength and speed now so start killing."

"U-understood."

Nicole hesitated for a brief moment before finally nodding her head.

She looked at Lucy who was plowing through the zombies with ease and took a deep breath as she started to charge as well.

Luke's voice then rang from behind.

"Remember to harvest the brain and the heart."

"Y-yes! I understand!"

It was naturally the first time Nicole would ever rip someone's brain or heart out so for the first few times, the result was a mess and it ended up attracting a lot of zombies instead.

Luke didn't mind and casually shot the approaching zombies with his pistol that was equipped with a silencer to lessen the noise.

He hit them all twice on both legs to stop them from moving. Afterward, Nicole would behead them and start harvesting again.

The three of them simply repeated this process for the whole journey to the bank.

As they reached the bank, Luke ordered Nicole to head down and start carrying the gold while he simply waited.

Nicole grumbled about how tired she was but still did as she was told since she didn't want to risk her neck exploding.

It may have been her imagination but she swore that she saw Lucy snicker at her as she heads down.

"That damn zombie bitch..."

Nicole glared at Lucy for a while before heading down.

Luke turned to look at Lucy but only saw her with the same expressionless face as always.

While they waited for Nicole to finish, Lucy turned to Luke and asked.

"Master, can I eat some of the brains?"

"Hm? Fine, go ahead."

Although still expressionless, Luke could see a hint of excitement as she started to grab some brains she harvested earlier to eat.

Luke continued to observe her as she ate in relish.

"Does it taste good?"

"Yes!"

Suddenly, Lucy froze and looked at Luke hesitantly.

"Master...do you want some too? I can give you half..."

"...No thanks."

After that, Lucy started to eat a lot but still restrained herself after eating ten brains since she knew that these were important to Luke in his experiments.

Luke asked.

"Are you still not full?"

"No."

"Fine, go eat until you're full. I'm curious as to how many brains you can eat."

Lucy's eyes seemed to lit up.

"Really!?"

"Yeah yeah, go ahead."

"Thank you, master!"

With that, Lucy no longer held back and started to devour all the brains.

They had met quite a lot of zombies on their journey and had harvested around three dozens of brains and hearts.

But all those were quickly devoured by this glutton zombie Lucy in a matter of minutes.

Luke's gaze fell on her thin waist, then to her huge chest.

"Where does all that food go?"

"Master, are you stupid? Food won't go in my chest."

"..."

It seems after eating all those brains, Lucy had further developed a personality.

But whether this was her original personality or not, Luke isn't able to tell as he never met this girl when she was still alive.

Luke ignored her comment and asked.

"How is it? Are you able to remember anything when you were alive?"

"Nope!"

"Then what is your earliest memory?"

Lucy placed her finger on her chin, copying Luke when he was pondering.

"Hmm, It was around the time master shot me!"

"Oh. Then, are you not mad at me?"

"I was mad at first. Then master cut my arm, I was even more mad! But master put my arm back and helped me heal. Then master taught me a lot of things! I'm not mad with master anymore!"

"I see..."

Luke placed his finger on his chin as he began to think of various things.

Normally, being shot at or having a limb cut off weren't things you can just brush off but it seems to Lucy, those things weren't much at all. It was quite easy for her to forgive him after showing her a few kind gestures.

In terms of mentality...she is a bit childish but is aware of a few mature things.

Earlier she had spoken about being pure despite being a corpse. This meant that she knew that she was a virgin.

Did she remember it? Was it simply a subconscious thought? Or does she have another way of knowing it?

Since Luke was curious, he asked.

"Earlier, you mentioned you were pure. How did you know that?"

"Sister Athena told me before."

"..."

Luke's face started to twitch in annoyance again.

That damn Artificial Retardation again! Just what is that AI teaching this zombie!? How useless!

"Then, do you know what it means?"

"Yes."

Suddenly, Lucy started to explain it.

At this moment, Nicole had finally carried a few gold bars back to the surface and saw this scene.

The sight of a zombie teaching someone s*x education and that both of them had such straight expressionless faces was quite...surreal.

Nicole shivered and felt it would be bad to stay so she quickly went down again to grab another set of gold bars to carry.

After Lucy was done explaining, Luke sighed and shook his head.

Athena...that AI sure taught Lucy a lot of useless information.

If a zombie and another zombie were to perform it...will a child be born?

Actually, do zombies still carry sperm and egg cells with them?

Luke's mind started to think of a lot of experiments once more.

After thinking this, Luke turned to Lucy.

"Are you interested in doing it?"

"Is it with master?"

"No."

"...Then no."

Luke frowned.

"Is there any reason why?"

Luke was curious.

Did this zombie also develop a preference? Does it feel love as well?

Lucy answered.

"No one can compare to master!"

"That doesn't matter, you just need to do it with another zombie."

"No!"

"Then another human. You can pick from the prisoners-"

"No!"

"..."

Lucy continued to shake her head.

Luke sighed and pointed at himself.

"Lucy, tell me. Do you like me?"

At this moment, Nicole came back once again and heard Luke.

Hearing Luke ask that to Lucy, Nicole froze and felt like she heard something she shouldn't have so...she quickly went back down again!

Luke naturally noticed her but couldn't be bothered to explain.

This time, Lucy nodded.

"Yes!"

"Why."

"Why? Because master is master!"

"But why?"

"I don't understand?"

Lucy tilted her head in confusion.

Luke frowned again.

Did this zombie girl really develop feelings? Or does she just not know what she feels?

It was quite easy for some people to mistake adoration or respect for love. In fact, Luke had seen it plenty of times before as well as it had happened on him in the past as the receiving end.

As the youngest genius in the world, Luke naturally had no shortage of fans and most of these fans were female.

Of course, Luke can simply force Lucy to do it with someone else but Luke felt there was no need for that. He can just use other subjects to do it as it doesn't necessarily have to be her.

Since she doesn't want to, then there was no need to force it.

While Luke and Lucy continued to wait for Nicole to finish, Luke heard a commotion outside.

Looking out the window, he saw two figures running away from a group of zombies. A man and a woman.

Seeing as how the two of them were desperately fleeing while holding each other, it was easy to guess that the two of them were a couple.

Luke's eyes gleamed.

How nice. He was just thinking about that experiment and these two dropped on his front door.

Luke retrieved the sniper rifle on his back and aimed.

The sniper rifle was also equipped with a silencer so only a small sound could be heard as he fired.

With one shot, one zombie fell with a hole between its eyebrows.

Another shot, one more zombie fell.

And another...and another...

Soon, the zombies chasing the couple have been taken care of.

When the couple saw this, the two of them finally stopped running as they grasped for breath.

Luke left the bank and approached the two of them as he walked casually.

The man saw Luke and the sniper rifle on his back, he knew that he was the one who saved them.

"Thank you for saving us, sir."

"Thank you..."

The woman was quite pretty despite her dirty appearance. It seems she was fully aware of this as she hid behind the man's back while thanking Luke.

They must've suffered a lot because of her appearance but Luke couldn't care less.

"Any of you bitten or scratched? Any wounds? Show me."

"Umm, we don't have any injuries..."

"Is that so. What a pity."

"Eh?"

How was that a pity? Shouldn't one be relieved instead.

"In that case, eat this."

Without giving the two a moment to retaliate, Luke appeared in front of them and forced a zombie heart into their mouths.

"Mmm!?"

"M-mmmm!!!"

Luke held their mouths calmly, waiting for them to swallow the hearts.

With Luke's strength, it was impossible for them to remove his hand on their faces. Sure enough, the weapon that the man was hiding from him was revealed when the man quickly slashed the knife on Luke's hand.

When Luke appeared before them, the man was already getting ready to kill him. Only acting kind and thankful to drop his guard.

Too bad for him, Lucy had also noticed his petty trick and moved faster than him, instantly grabbing the arm holding the knife and breaking it.

"MMMMMMMM!!!!"

The man wanted to shout in pain but was still gagged by Luke's hand.

Soon enough, in their panic, they had swallowed the thing that Luke forced into their mouths.

Luke heard them swallow and let them go.

"W-what did you feed us!?"

"Zombie heart."

Instantly, the color in their skin paled in fright.

"W-wha...no...that's a joke...right!?"

"It's not."

"WHY!?"

"I need to turn you both into zombies."

Luke was very patient as he answered their questions. After all, he still needed to wait for them to turn in order to use them in his experiment.

The two of them placed their hands on their throat, forcing themselves to throw up.

However, it was already too late.

Soon, they both started to tremble...!
