Nicholas's eyes shot open seconds after both vampires began their nightly lovemaking session deep within the cave. His body jolted upright, eyes searching around to see if anyone else had witnessed his abrupt motion.
As usual, Dog One, whose name was still a mystery was nestled in a corner of the dark cave, curled up in his wolf form, his head resting on his paws as deep breaths escaped his muzzle.
Like every other night, his accomplice was outside the cave, doing heaven knows what in the moonlight. He could be out there for hours, but the human always came back before dawn broke.
Nicholas carefully got up, moving to exit the cave.
