Somehow, it had felt like time had become stationary between us. She was quietly still as we stood motionless for what seemed like an eternity. I knew she was having an internal battle, but I was hoping she would let herself give into it.
She looked up at me and quietly replied, ‘I may want this Gabe, but that doesn’t make it right. Zeke and Ezra, Obi, and Isla, mean the world to me. This isn’t just about us, I love them’ she turned back and walked towards the door. Looking back at me, she added ‘You would end up breaking my heart Gabe, I won’t let that happen. I won’t do this and risk losing everything’ and with that, she left.
