Gabe’s POV
I don’t know how long I had allowed my mind to wonder for, but I knew I had been absent from the family for too long. I wandered back along the stretch of crystal-clear water in the heat of the midday sun, the warm white sand sinking slightly under my feet as waves gently lapped around my ankles.
Looking out over the sea, it was picture perfect, but the noise to the left of me by no means matched the peaceful idyllic scene. I turned slightly and saw they were splitting into teams, for beach games, cheering and screaming at who they were picking next.
