Broken

Chapter 2

We had been driving for a couple hours making a few stops to use the bathroom and get some snacks, when I finally pulled up to a motel the next state over, it was getting late and we could all use a good night's rest. The motel was pretty small and in the middle of nowhere in Washington, there was woods surrounding us it was beautiful. I took the kids out of the car and went inside to check out a room, there wasn't anyone at the desk so I rang the bell. A woman who looked to be about in her fifties came out, she about 5'7 and a little chubby but she was pretty with dark blue eyes and graying brown hair. "Hello, what can I do for you?" She asked with a slight smile "can I get a room for the night for my kids and I? just a single queen sized bed is fine" I said back to her " of course we have one room available, it's going to be $50 for the night and I'm going to need to see your i.d. and also need you to sign in" she said looking at me and my kids " is it alright if I pay in cash?" I asked a little nervous. " yeah, here's your key you're going to be in the last room, there's an ice box and a vending machine on the side by your room as well. Check out is at 11am" she seemed like a pretty happy lady with the bubbly way she talked. " thank you so much, come kids let's get our stuff and go to our room" 

we walked down to where our room was and went inside it was pretty cute the room was a beige color with pictures of wolves, the bed was in the middle of the room with a forest green blanket. The bathroom was in the back of the room it was all white. I set our stuff down by the table next to the bed and got out the pajamas for all of us I had the kids get changed and brush there teeth then tucked them into bed. They fell asleep pretty fast, I felt bad having to travel for so long with them being so young. I sat at the table and pulled out my laptop to look for jobs in the area I needed to find a way to make more money and fast so I could get a new place for my kids and I to live. I looked for maid jobs and nannying jobs anything so I could find that would be okay with my kids being with me. I don't know anyone in Washington so I'm on my own, I didn't think this through but I cant turn back now if I were to just return after leaving with the kids I don't even want to think what Justin would do to me. After having no luck finding anything I finally closed my laptop and got into bed with the kids sleep took over so quick I hadn't realized how tired I actually was until I laid down.
