Lena never planned to become a bride especially not at her sister’s wedding.

When the real bride disappears moments before the ceremony, Lena makes a desperate decision to save her family from public humiliation. What was meant to be a temporary solution quickly turns into a shocking reality when she finds herself legally married to Ethan Carter—a powerful billionaire with secrets of his own.

To the outside world, their marriage looks perfect. But behind the glamorous image lies an arrangement built on confusion, secrets, and a promise to keep the truth hidden.

As Lena is pulled deeper into Ethan’s mysterious world, she begins to discover a side of him no one else sees. The cold billionaire isn’t as heartless as people believe and the accidental bride may be the only person who truly understands him.

CHAPTER 1: The Wedding That Wasn’t Meant to Be
The day was supposed to be the happiest day of my sister’s life. Instead, it became the day my entire life turned upside down. I still remember standing in the bridal dressing room, staring at the chaos unfolding around me. The room smelled of perfume, fresh roses, and panic. Pure panic. “Where is she?” my mother demanded, pacing across the floor in her elegant blue dress. “I told you she stepped outside twenty minutes ago,” one of the bridesmaids said nervously. “That was before the ceremony was supposed to start!” The church outside was already full of guests. Family members, friends, business partners, and distant relatives had gathered to witness the grand wedding of my older sister, Melissa. The perfect daughter. The responsible one. The one who never made mistakes. Which made the situation even more unbelievable. “She wouldn’t just disappear,” my mother said, her voice trembling slightly. But deep down, I knew something was wrong. Melissa had looked strange that morning. Quiet. Distracted. Almost… afraid. I checked my phone again. Still no messages. Still no calls. A cold feeling settled in my stomach. Then my phone buzzed. My heart jumped as I saw Melissa’s name on the screen. I opened the message quickly. And everything changed. I’m sorry, Lena. I can’t do this. Please forgive me. For a moment, I simply stared at the words. Then I felt the room spinning around me. “She’s gone,” I whispered. My mother stopped pacing. “What do you mean she’s gone?” I swallowed hard. “She ran away.” The silence that followed was deafening. My mother’s face turned pale. “That’s impossible,” she said weakly. But it wasn’t. The message was right there on my phone. The bride had left. And the wedding was supposed to start in ten minutes. Outside the dressing room, music from the ceremony hall began to play softly. The guests were waiting. The groom was waiting. Everything had already been arranged. The decorations. The food. The photographers. The church was filled with over two hundred guests expecting a perfect wedding. But there was no bride. My mother suddenly grabbed my arm. “We cannot let the guests find out,” she said urgently. “What?” I asked in disbelief. “If this wedding is canceled, it will destroy our family’s reputation.” I blinked. “Mom, Melissa ran away.” “I know that!” “Then what exactly do you expect us to do?” Her eyes slowly moved toward me. And suddenly I understood. “Oh no,” I said immediately. “Absolutely not.” “You look similar enough,” she insisted. “Mom!” “Just for the ceremony.” “You want me to replace Melissa?” I said, shocked. “Only temporarily,” she said quickly. “We will explain everything later.” “This is insane.” Before she could argue further, the church doors opened. The wedding coordinator rushed inside. “The ceremony must begin now,” she said anxiously. “The groom’s family is getting impatient.” The groom. I had almost forgotten about him in the middle of all this chaos. Ethan Carter. A powerful businessman whose family had strong connections with ours. I had only met him briefly during the engagement party months earlier. He seemed calm. Reserved. Dangerously handsome. And completely unaware that his bride had just vanished. “I’m not doing this,” I said firmly. But my mother looked desperate. “Please, Lena,” she begged. “Just walk down the aisle. We’ll figure out the rest later.” I should have refused. Every sensible part of my mind was screaming at me to walk out of that church immediately. But then I imagined the disaster waiting outside. Two hundred confused guests. The humiliation for our family. The scandal that would follow. And somehow… I found myself standing up. “Just the ceremony,” I muttered. My mother hugged me in relief. “Thank you.” Five minutes later, I was walking down the aisle in my sister’s wedding dress. The church doors opened. The music began. And every pair of eyes turned toward me. My heart pounded so loudly I could barely hear the music. This wasn’t supposed to be happening. This wedding wasn’t meant to be mine. At the end of the aisle stood Ethan Carter. Tall. Composed. Watching me with sharp, observant eyes. For a moment, I wondered if he had already realized the truth. If he had noticed something was wrong. But when I reached the altar, he simply looked at me calmly. Almost knowingly. The priest began speaking. The ceremony moved forward. And before I fully understood what was happening, the moment arrived. “Do you want this woman to be your lawful wife?” The church fell silent. Ethan’s gaze met mine. And then, without hesitation, he said the word that sealed both our fates. “I do.” A wave of shock ran through me. This wasn’t supposed to happen. This wedding was never meant to be real. Yet somehow… I had just become the accidental bride.
