CHAPTER 1. The Cursed Alpha
Blood served as the reminder of the past.
For countless centuries, the land of the werewolves had been shrouded in wars caused by betrayal and secrets that were never meant to be revealed. In every corner of the kingdom, the name of one clan continued to spread fear among all.
The Nightshade Pack.
A clan known not only for their immense power but also for the cruelty they showed toward their enemies.
In the heart of the dark kingdom stood an ancient castle that seemed to have been consumed by darkness itself. Its walls had witnessed thousands of battles and countless lives lost beneath the curse left behind by the past.
Inside the grand hall, everything was silent. No one dared to speak. The reason was the being standing before them—the one feared by everyone.
The one and only Alpha who ruled over the entire kingdom.
His mere presence was enough to make anyone who faced him fall to their knees.
"Great Alpha, we have something important to report to you. During our surveillance with my group, we discovered creatures who have violated your laws."
"The borders of our territory have been breached once again," a warrior reported coldly. He remained kneeling with his hand placed over his chest as a sign of respect toward their leader.
Upon hearing the report, no emotion could be seen on the Alpha's face as he sat upon his throne. His eyes were filled with nothing but coldness, as if every corner of his gaze carried a warning that he had no mercy for anyone who dared to threaten his kingdom.
"Find them. And when you do, do not leave a single one of them alive. No creature has the right to defy the laws I have established throughout the kingdom under my rule," the being before them, known as the Alpha, declared.
The three werewolves he had commanded immediately moved and left the hall where they had stood before him.
"So Travis has already sent his spies. This only means that he is planning something against my territory once again. Very well... I will play the game you started, Travis."
He spoke to himself before letting out a loud and terrifying laugh that echoed throughout the hall.
His name was Lucian Veyron Nightshade.
He had lived for centuries. Throughout those long years, he remained alive—a being who had witnessed the rise and fall of everything within his kingdom.
As time passed, he had closed his heart to every emotion. For him, in this world, mercy was a weakness. And weakness was something he could never afford to show.
By rejecting his own feelings and burying his emotions, he remained strong. Because for an Alpha like him, the heart could become the very reason for his downfall—the one thing he feared the most.
While Lucian sat upon his throne, he did not realize that he had already fallen asleep.
Deep within his slumber, a dream visited him—a dream that seemed to come from the past itself. Something long forgotten had appeared before him and revealed itself.
Because of that dream, he suddenly awakened in shock.
His servant, who had been placing a cup filled with a red liquid on the stone table beside his throne, was startled by his sudden movement.
"What is this? Why did I dream of the prophecy spoken to me by the ancient oracle?"
A question continued to disturb his mind, and he fell into deep contemplation.
