Prolouge.
“Kylie… please stay.” A girl’s cry is heard. Sounding hurt, she weakly fell onto her knees onto the hard concrete floor.
“I’m sorry Atlas.. I really want to stay but I can’t.” Another girl’s voice is heard. Her voice is deep and trembling. Trying not to cry. She’s hurt. Looking at the girl on her knees only makes things worse.
“Atlas, please stop. Let me go.”
“Why can’t you stay?! Don’t leave me, Kai! I love you… please stay.” Atlas’s cries harder, she clutches Kylie’s shirt, not letting her go.
“I love you more. But I can’t. I’m sorry.” Kylie says in a straight voice now. Sounding heartless as if she doesn’t care. But deep down she wishes none of this is happening at all.
“Is this because of your dad? That he found out, about us?” Atlas’s voice trembles. “Kylie, did you even try to talk it out. Is this why you’re leaving. Do you even love me?”
“I’m sorry-”
“Stop saying sorry!”
“Look Atlas, I- I love you I really do. But I can’t go against dad. I can’t do anything.”
“You can stay at my place!”
“I’ll just be a burden Atlas! Please, let go. I need to go.”
Kylie aggressively removes Atlas’s hand from her shirt, leaving the girl crying on the floor. Kylie is crying too, she feels like the worst person alive. She has no choice.
Before leaving she quickly went down to Atlas, whispering,
“I’m sorry Atlas. I hate to do this. I hate to leave but I promise, I’ll come back for you. I love you. I promise.”
And there, the van Kylie is in drives far away from the girl she loves, leaving her on the side of the road, crying helplessly.
