Chapter 5

*Kora*        I hate days where I am forced to be around everyone all day. They exhaust me. It's almost over though. All that’s left to do is to see just how strong that bastard is. I finally made it home and grabbed a glass of red wine. I can hear that she is up in the attic. Sounds like she is packing. Good. I know that Theo took her an old suitcase. I could care less though. I wasn’t ever going to use it again, and it helps her get away from me with less fuss. As I walk toward my office I text Theo that he needs to come to my office as soon as he can.                 My office is just that an office. Cherry wood desk with a dark gray office chair. I have a few different kinds of plants scattered around. Two guest chairs in the same color grey opposite my desk. A fireplace with a couch near it. A couple of rugs, one near the fireplace and under my desk. Both of which are deep purple and dark gray in a swirling kind of pattern. It is modern in style but keeps to the colors I prefer. I do have a decent amount of candles laying about and a small table in the corner next to my cabinet. I need all those items for my spells and rituals. I've long since spelled it so no one can enter unless priorly invited by myself. It is my space and I like to keep it that way.                 Theo better hope he makes it here before that bastard of his or he is going to be very embarrassed. I do not care either way, but I am sure he will throw a fit if I do not warn him before she gets here. He comes through the door and shuts it as I am thinking this and that makes me somewhat disappointed for a minute. Oh well.                 “Evening Theo. Looks to be your lucky day. You made it here before that bastard of yours did.”                “ I am not sure how that makes me lucky, Kora. Care to explain?”                 “ Well, you see that bracelet you put on her when she was born needs taken off. Only the one who put it on her can take it off. So you need to take it off.”, I smile as I finish telling him.                 “ Excuse me?”, his eyes look to be popping out of his skull as he says this. “ Please tell me you are just trying to piss me off.”                 “ Ummmm, no. You put the bracelet on your bastard and now it needs to come off so that she can go to the Academy.”, I reach in the top drawer and grab the paper that I wrote the reversal spell on., “ Oh and here this is how it comes off. She should be here soon.” “How?”, he asks as he takes a seat. “ Same way you rejected your mate of course.”. I do not understand why I have to remind him.  Like he can ever forget that he technically killed his own mate. The fact that he is almost always thinking about that night is the reason I learned to block my mind reading part of spirit unless I need it. His thoughts got exhausting quickly. I didn’t expect the new abilities when I drained the Alpha of Red Moon of his power and life. I was taken off guard at that moment, but just for a second. The power rush was amazing.  After that, it was too easy to do the same to each other wolf that got in my way. They might not have been as strong but they each gave me more power. I laugh at that thought. Theo looks at me like he can kill me. Then there is a knock at the door. “ Just in time, Bastard. Come in.”  Thea comes in and shuts the door behind her. I motion for her to sit next to Theo. She is obedient. Very smart of her not to anger me on purpose. She caught on by the time she was four not to get in my way or even near me unless asked. She glances at Theo as she sits down, but then looks right back at me and just nods. “How do you feel about having to go to the Academy?’, I ask her. “ I feel like it is in the best interest of everyone, and I am grateful to get the chance to help end the war.” “ Nice answer,” She never took her eyes off me as she said that statement. She is clever indeed.” Ok, well that bracelet of yours needs to come off for them to teach you anything.”  There is no shock on her face. That means she knew the bracelet was withholding her powers. I wonder if it was due to Theo or because she has felt her dormant powers already. No use wondering I will know soon enough. Thea lefts her arm toward me and holds it in the air. I laugh again. “ Oh no. I did not put that on you, Bastard. I can not take it off even if I did try.” I look over at Theo after saying that. Just so I know she can not miss what I am saying. Look Like she did. She sits back down and looks over at Theo with a questioning look on her face. Thea looks at Theo somewhat sideways and asks him. “ Did you put it on me?” Theo looks at me again wishing he could kill me. Then back at Thea and responds, “Evidently I did. However, I did not know I had till right before you knocked on the door. You see Kora can make most people do exactly what she wants them to do. She has manipulated spirit magik to its fullest degree. She is”. I cut him off from finishing his sentence. He has said more than enough about that. I don’t know why he thought I would let him speak about me that way at all. He is starting to push my buttons in ways I can not allow. “ That’s enough. She does not need to know more than that. Yes, I MADE him put that bracelet on you. Yes, he did every spell it took to make sure all powers you may or may not possess were blocked from you. No, he did not have a choice in it. Not that it matters. He has the reversal spell he needs to take it off. That is all that needs to be told. Put your arm in the air bastard.” She did as told. “ Theo do the spell” “ f**k you, Kora. We need to go over there, Thea.” Theo says as he points to my alter. When they get to the alter. Theo makes a circle on the floor with the candles he will need. Places the herb bundle in Thea's hands and tells her to get in the middle. He pours the salt around the candles and instructs Thea on what he will do next. I do not understand why he thinks she knows needs to know anything. “ Hurry up. I am getting impatient. I want to get to bed.” I snap at them. I need to have a chance to gauge how much power the bastard has. Theo is no weak magik user. In fact, his family is the last known family to wield Fire magik,  within our coven. He was also said to be the father of a hybrid. Wasn’t my children, but he does have one more. I suspect Thea has both.   I do not want her around me. She is not the cause of my anger, but she is a reminder of it. A daily one. She has yet to show care for anything I do. So as of now as long as she is gone I will not care where she is or what she is doing. I do want to know if she is a hybrid though. The prophecy linked to the first witch werewolf is not what I have in mind for my coven. If she does not possess a wolf I will just wash my hand clean of her. I hear Theo chanting the spell as he moves around the outer circle of the candles. He is almost done. He does his last sweep with his bundle of herbs and then Theas her bundle lights on fire. Thea jumps slightly but doesn’t displace herself. Her herb bundle is laying against her wrist and touching the bracelet. Once the fire burns the herbs to where it is touching the silver the bracelet pops off. At the same time, Thea throws her head in the air looking toward the ceiling. Then screams like she is on fire. I bet she is.
