"Eve!" I was growing frustrated as my mate explained how she needed to stay at Majestic Lake for a couple more days. She was doing her best to reassure me that things were ok, but I wasn't moved. She had already been gone for the weekend and there really wasn't any reason for her to be there. Whatever the pack needed, should be handled by one of their own ranked members. My mate insisted on helping them out, however.
"I'm just trying to help them out with this refugee situation. I promise we will be back by Tuesday evening."
"That's too far away." I frowned, already considering making the trip out there.
"It's less than 48 hours." Her giggle was so sweet and innocent. I sighed.
"Fine."
"Think you can manage?"
"Less than 48 hours." I repeated back to her.
