When she heard the name she was shocked not because he is Youngest CEO but... he is also his childhood friend and also he is best friend of Max as well. She was surprised to see him here . She was stunned .
Umm... hello? Dan called her . Ah... sorry , I was zoned out for a second . she replied
Oh ! okay and your full name? he asked .
She hesitated for a second whether not to tell him or not.

He was dread shock.. to hear her name
Hmm.. why is he shocked?
Because he loved Jessica when he was in Highschool but when he got to know that she is loving Max he decided not to say anything about his love instead he became friends with max . He and Max hang out a lot. It was surprising that he didn't recognized her neither she recognized him.
Daniel? Are you okay? She asked
Ah.. yes it's just I haven't seen you in years

What? He doesn't know about Max death? Jess thought to herself
Oh ! God how am I gona tell him?

Um... Daniel .. Max... Max.... has passed away a year and half ago. She said to him tears on her eyes
At First Daniel couldn't believe what he just heard. He was damn frozen for a minute. Then he took a deep breath and composed himself.
What... what are you saying Jess? He asked her his voice is stumbled
Jess shake her head as a yes looking down . Yes.. Dan he - he passed away a year and half ago.
And how? He asked her... Car crash Dan she replied to him thinking how Max had suffered on that day
Now her eyes are all filled with tears. Daniel just stood there in shock whether to believe it or not.
He just sat down in a chair in upset he covered his face with his hands . Trying not to cry. When Jess saw that she felt sorry for him.

Jess wiped her tears and sat next to him. Its been a year and half without him. I am sorry for not telling you before. I didn't have your contact number and I am sorry After school i got busy with some other things so i can't even properly talk and spend time with you guys . She said
No No its okay I understand . I am really sorry for your loss. It must been hard for you. He said to her

After a while they both sat in silence when the order is ready staff handed over his order .
He took his order paid the bill and then he saw Jess sitting in Chair.

He left the bakery with heavy heart... ... he clearly doesn't know who should be feel about Max or Jess.
He Went to home with heavy heart....... Annie welcomed him she saw his face looking upset..
She understood something is wrong.. but she didn't want to disturb him. So she leave him be
She silently sat on the couch he went to his room and freshen up . He was completely silet the whole time... he was thinking how he spend his time with Max . Most importantly he felt bad for Jess. He felt bad for her that he didn't got a chance to be there for her. He felt that he is not a good friend for both of them..
He took a shower and changed into his pajamas. He went to the living area where he find Annie is sitting there. He took the cakes and brownies that he bought from Jess Bakery and went upto her. He gave those to her she silently took them and give brownies to him. She switched on the tv playing some music. They both were silently eating it. After a while Ann asked him
What's wrong? He explained the whole thing to her including that he loved Jess. She was devastated about hearing Max death. She have seen Max couple of times . She and Max are very good friends she never knew that Jess is Max girlfriend and he never knew that Dan loved Jess.
Are you serious right now? She asked him her voice strained.
Yes Ann he is not anymore... he replied.. I can't believe it she replied... Dan I seriously want to see Ann right now. Can we please go and see her? I want to see her Dan she asked him.
Are you crazy Ann? How can we go at this time? You better be joking he said to her
I am dead serious. I want to see her right now.If You can't come fine then I will go by myself.. she stubbornly said to him
He knows that once Ann is decided she never changes her decision . So he had no other option but to agree.
Fine I will go and change we will go and meet her. He said to her
Good for you. Do you know where she lives? She asked him
Hmm , I know I hope she didn't changed her house . I will go and change. He said
He went to his room and changed into some T- shirt and a pant. They both left house.
On the other side Jess went to Hospital to check her mom. She was there for few minutes .She talked to her mother. She even told her mother about Dan visiting earlier today
Ma, I saw Daniel today she said
Which Daniel? Her mother asked her
Max Friend ma Daniel cooper she replied
Oh Dan ! How is he? She asked her
Hmm he is good .. she replied in sad low tone . Mary find something wrong
What happened dear? Mary Asked her
Ma..... Dan doesn't know about Max death. I only told him she said
Oh ! God poor child they 2 were so close it must be hard for him Mary replied
Yeah ! Ma it will be hard for him. I really feel guilty for not telling him she said.
Look Jess it's not your mistake. You shouldn't feel sorry for not that. You didn't have his contact so you can't tell him. Don't worry about it Mary Comforted her
Hmm okay ma take some rest , I will see you tomorrow.
Oh! By the way Lawyer called me this morning about Alex .she said
Oh! What did he decide? Mary asked her . He wants to be on his own ma Jess replied. After hearing it Mary was silent for few minutes.
Good to hear that he is not staying with Anderson. She replied. Jess nodded her head
Ok ma I will go take some rest Jess said and exit the room.
She went to the entrance of the hospital to find her Mother's doctor is Talking to his Dad Anderson. She was shocked to see that. At the same time she was curious to find out what was he talking about. Whe Jess saw Anderson she boiled with anger she got remember how he used to treat her. She was on the verge of slapping him at the time but she took a long deep breath and walk past him. She didn't even showed that she know Anderson . While she was crossing she could hear a few words from doctor
Patient condition is critical if we can do the surgery or the chemotherapy there might be chances to save ..
She only heard these she exactly know who is the patient is . Mary her Mother is patient but she got confused .
How did Anderson came here? And how do he knows about Mom's? Something is fishy she thought it to herself .
She got into her car and drove back home. She went to her Room and freshen up. Throughout her mind is all about how Anderson got to know this? And How she is gonna save her mom? This is the only thing that she was thinking about.
She went to the kitchen and made some dinner. She got Reminded how she fought with her mother yesterday same time for Cooking. Now she is alone at home. She Got emotional for a second thinking about her mom and how she spend her time with Her mother.
Her Eyes flooded with tears . She can't control it. She desperately needs a shoulder to cry but she can't.
She cried while cooking. She made herself dinner and place them in table .
*door bell rings*
Who would be here at this time? She went and opened the door and was shocked to see the person.
