I didn't sleep the whole night. Or more like the sleep didn't come to me. His hauntingly beautiful eyes were engraved in my brain, the more I closed my eyes the more his eyes did things to me. And I didn't want to think of him. But I couldn't stop myself. I remember his eyes appreciating the nakedness and the way he slapped my butt. It was embarrassing yet so hot at the same time.
My mind kept playing games with me the whole night and I look like a zombie out of a movie as I saw the first rays of sun peeking inside my window through the curtains. I sighed, rubbing my eyes and getting off my bed. I put on some joggers and slipped into my running shoes before going out of the apartment with the spare set of keys. It was still very early and I didn't want to disturb Valenie.
Taking a run seemed a better idea. I always go for a run whenever I want to clear my head of jumbled thoughts.
Playing on some music from my playlist, I put on the earphones I brought and stuffed them into my ears before sprinting in the direction of the track near the building. I could see a few oldies taking a walk and birds chirping in the distance as the sun ascended the sky.
Running always was a therapy. To me at least. It made me forget the bad things and just the music and nature did their charm.
It was almost seven in the morning when I ran back to the apartment, I saw the shops open. Buying something to eat before heading back, I ran into a guy who seemed to be in a hurry.
"Hey watch out" I shouted but the man didn't stop. Rude.

When I walked into the apartment Valenie was in the kitchen and cooking something.
"Hey, good morning." I chirped although my voice seemed horrible. Perks of not sleeping on time.
"Hey. Good morning." She replied stirring the pan.
"What are you making?" I asked sitting on the counter.
"Scrambled eggs and coffee." She said plating the eggs into the plates. She pushed one in my direction and I smiled up at her.
"Thanks."
"Did someone come last night?" I froze for a second. Did she see us kissing? Please don't tell me. Oh, God.
"Uh- yeah. Enzo came. Ale sent some things for you. They're right there." I spoke taking a bite full of eggs. God did she cook delicious.
"Ale sent something? He didn't mention anything." Val said as she headed out and brought the bag and placed it on the counter.
"What this could be?" She frowned and opened it to find some vanilla-scented candles and chocolates. God, he was so romantic.
There was a card inside as well.

These candles reminded me of your smell Valenie.
Yours
Ale

Valenie was beetroot red and I smiled teasingly up at her. "Your lover boy never ceases to amaze."
"Stop it." She said embarrassed and I laughed at her face.
"Aww. You guys are so cute." I gushed at the way they complimented each other.
I looked closely at the candles. "Looks very expensive, to be honest," I said as I tried finding the tags. There were none but the brand itself showed how expensive these were. Not to forget the expensive chocolates.
"I don't think I can accept these." She shook her head and I studied her.
"Valenie he brought these for you with love. Don't reject them and hurt his feelings." I schooled her.
She nodded as she lit one of the candles and instantly the kitchen smelt of vanilla and the lush smell wafted in the air.
"You're right. But I will ask him not to spend on expensive things. I feel like I am exploiting him." She said upset and I hugged her.
"It's not like that. All of us know this. It's just his way of expressing his feelings. You don't even let him touch you. The lover boy can only do so much!" I smirked and she slapped my arm playfully.
"Hey. You don't get to say this." She reminded and I raised my head in surrender. The girl can hit just fine.
We spent the morning talking about different stuff and how we are going to pack the little things we had. We didn't buy anything for the apartment since we knew it was just a temporary abode. The furniture here was all new when we moved in and already furnished. All we had to do was get our stuff here and we were all ready to live.
"Should we go shopping?" I asked Valenie who seemed to be deep in thoughts.
"Yeah. I think we should. I needed a few things before we move back to the town. I don't think we'll get time in the upcoming month. All we need to do is study. God, it would be so hectic." Valenie said all in one breath and I could feel her. Exam jitters were messy.
"Alright let's go then." I punched the air and Val laughed.
"Calm your horses' girl. It's still early and I need to take a shower and a change of clothes." She said and I rolled my eyes.
"I need to shower too. Went for a run early in the morning." I told her and she looked at me for a brief second.
"I know why you always go for a run. Is everything alright?" All I wanted to do was hug her tight. She was one true best friend.
"Yeah. Just stress of exams." I shrugged not wanting to talk about anything.
"Okay. Though I don't believe you but I know you'll eventually tell me." Val boasted and I nodded. This was true. I always run to her for advises.
"Okay now. Go away." I pushed Valenie inside her room. "Remember you needed to take a shower." I reminded her and she nodded hastily.
This girl was my one true best friend. I always know she will have my back.
