Shawnee Mission Park has trails and hiking paths, a large 103-acre manmade lake, a beach and playgrounds. All of this was seated in the middle of a large city. The boys took off towards a hiking path with Sienna following behind. Jaden would look back and smile occasionally. Just being in nature was so relaxing, walking along the path and seeing the birds in the trees and flitting through the sky.
Siena was enjoying the quiet as the boys ran and jumped up ahead of her. They were very into parkour, which is coming up with creative ways to get from one place to another.
The hiking path opened up into a play area. There was a large wooden tower in front of them. It stood at least two stories tall. All over it were hearts with different initials in it. The boys were already halfway up when she came on the ladder. She started the climb. She was not a big fan of heights but she decided it was a safe structure she would be fine. By the time she arrived at the top, Brody and Stephen were sitting along one edge with their feet dangling in the air. Jaden appeared to be waiting for her. He grabbed her hand and pulled her to the opposite side of the platform. He sat down and started dangling his legs over the side. She sat down about a foot away from the edge and kept her legs under her.
He c****d an eyebrow. “Would you like to explain that?”
She mumbled, “I’m scared of heights.”
“What was that?”
“I’m scared of heights.” She said clearly. “Don’t make fun of me.”
She was already very uncomfortable with being up here and was squirming a bit.
“Well if this is you uncomfortable it’s super cute.” He had her hand in his and was massaging circles soothingly. It actually was calming her slightly.
“Thanks, I think.” She blushed. He leaned in and brushed his lips with hers lightly.
“Are you having fun?” He asked looking out into the neighboring lake.
“Yes.”
“Even though I have been with the guys the whole time.” He inquired further.
“Mhm.” She said. She was looking at the engravings in the wood platform too nervous to look out over the edge.
“I have never been with a girl like you before. So easy to be around, and be with.” Jaden said looking at her.
“I have always considered myself pretty go with the flow. Unless I’m late, I hate being late.”
“Duly noted. So where are you trying to go to college?” He asked, changing the subject.
“Anywhere that will take me!”
“But anywhere specific?” He appeared genuinely curious.
“My dream is a division II school about 4 hours from here. There is a private college about 2.5 hours from here considering me. I could probably go to a junior college around here if I wanted.” She responded, she decided looking out over the lake was not so bad, as long as she did not look down.
“That’s awesome!”
“My grades are good enough to go about anywhere, the rest depends on softball scholarships.”
“I’m sure you’ll get them.”
“Thanks, can we get down now?”
“Oh, come on, I thought we’d draw our names on the platform.” Jaden said, whipping out a pocket knife. She was a little taken aback.
“Don’t you think it is a little soon to immortalize our relationship in a wood carved heart?” She asked.
“I was joking, I just like to whip out my pocket knife whenever I can.” Jaden replied grinning as he headed towards the ladder. Sienna rolled her eyes.
Jaden descended the ladder first and then Sienna.
“Now where to?” Sienna asked, once her feet were safely back on the ground.
“There’s a beach around this bend, we could go and put our feet in the sand?” Jaded pointed.
“Sounds good.”
Jaden and Sienna walked around the bend to the beach. The beach was about a half mile along the edge of the lake. There were a couple of small families spread around the beach with kids building sand castles and flying kites. Their laughter filled the air.
They picked a spot slightly secluded from the others on the beach. Sienna sat down and took off her shoes and socks, sliding her feet into the warm sand. The weather was beautiful for early September, warm, but not too warm, with cool breezes passing by occasionally. Jaden sat down beside her, snaking his arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him.
“Where did Brody and Stephen go? Sienna asked, suddenly realizing they were on their own.
“They met up with a couple of girls and ditched out.” He replied, rubbing circles into her palm with his other hand.
“Oh, I promised Brody no making out in front of him.” Sienna said blushing.
“Well we are not in front of him now, are we?” Jaden said, leaning in to her.
His lips meeting hers, soft at first. Increasing in intensity, Sienna felt herself meeting his intensity with her own. His hand was on the back of her neck. Her heart felt like it was about to pound out of her chest. He lightly pushed against her until she fell back in the sand, never breaking the contact of their lips. After a few more kisses, Jaden pulled back to look at her.
“You smell amazing you know.” He kissed her again, delving his tongue into her mouth. One of his hands had found his way to her hip, he was running his hand along the exposed skin where her shirt had ridden up. The contact of his hand on her skin sent tingles up her spine. Kissing him felt natural and easy, nothing forced in it.
Things were getting heated in quite a public place. Sienna had been matching his kisses with ones of her own, sliding her tongue in and out of his mouth as if it was second nature, but she knew she had to put a stop to it soon. She pulled back breathing heavily. She had not realized how into the kiss she was until the kiss stopped. His lips had moved to her neck and he was lingering kisses up and down her neck.
“Jaden,” she finally whispered out.
“Mhm,” he mumbled still enraptured in kissing her neck. His lips felt so good on her skin. She knew she would regret not saying something soon.
“I think we should go.”
He gave her a little love bite before pulling away. “You sure we can’t stay here forever.” He asked, his brown eyes sparkling at her.
“Well the sun is setting and I am getting a little cold.” She said rubbing her hands along her arms to warm them up.
“I can keep you warm.” He said before launching his body on top of hers. She felt every part of his body touching every part of hers. He was holding himself above her, not putting his full weight down.
“I’d prefer a sweater,” she said before rolling out from underneath him. She wiped the sand off her feet and started putting her shoes and socks on. She peeked a look up at Jaden. He was laying in the sand right where she had just been under him, gazing at her. She stood up, dusting off as much sand as she could. Jaden finally stood up and shook off his body in a doglike manner. They headed to the car in silence. Sienna felt like she still had sand everywhere.
Sienna peered at her phone and saw a text from Brody asking her to pick them up on the other side of the park. Jaden did not speak until after they got in the car and were on the way through the park.
“Are you a virgin?”
