Chapter 20Daniel was off his feed but managed to act near normal at work the next morning. We reviewed what we’d done right and what we’d done wrong our first year in business, even if that first year was only four or five months long. We took in lots of money, at least, it seemed like a lot to me. But we’d made some mistakes. One of the outfits that bought from us on credit never paid us a dime for the goods we shipped. And a couple of items I thought would sell was going out the door real slow. I still think we can get rid of them when the powwows start, but that ain’t for a while. When we got down to the bottom line—I never knew what that meant before—we did better than we expected.
