Chapter 21Right after me’n Daniel talked, I went to Blue Valley to take care of something that’s bothered me for a long time. Daniel graduated from high school, Boots had, Long Face had, hell, just about everybody had…but me. I found a class at the community college where I could study up for my GED and enrolled on the spot. When I told Daniel I’d be taking some time out in the workday for it, he acted happy as all get out. Made the load on him bigger, but he was all for me graduating.
It wasn’t easy, but I’d made it through the eleventh grade, so I didn’t have to make up as much as lots of people in the class.
