"Hello?" Seraphine stood like a log of a tree in the cold winter. She had no words to describe what she was seeing.  "Hello?" asked the boy again. He was skinny, pale-skinned, with white hair, and... he was chained on both of his hands and feet to a pole.  She furrowed her brows. The village seemed fine earlier. Only the baron was a self-centered bastard, but the rest of the people seemed ordinary. They obviously did not look like the kind of people to chain a boy to a pole.  She shouldn't have been surprised, really. She was not a good person, to begin with.
