Homeless

Once school was over Angel walked back to the house that she has called home her whole life. She was not in a hurry to get home due to her parents' words running through her mind again and again all day long. ‘As soon as you turn fifteen you will be homeless. We cannot have some werewolf running around here. You will put us all in danger when that time comes.’ By this time, she had tears going down here face from remembering all of this.             Sure, enough when she got there all her things were in a suitcase outside the front door with two letters. One letter simply said ‘We changed all the locks and have all the windows locked so do not try to come inside. If you do, we will call the cops for trespassing and the wolf hunters to lock you away for good. We do love you, but this is for your own good, one day you will understand. When you read the other note from your birth parents you will understand everything. Once you have proper training, we would love for you to visit and to meet your mate. Goodbye Angel Purplemoon.’ She could not even talk to her parents to figure out what was going on.             Angel was devastated. Where would she go? What would she eat? Where would she shower? She had so many questions but not one answer. She simply grabbed her things and started walking back towards her school. Maybe if she got back soon enough, she could take a shower in the locker room, that would solve one of her issues. When she got there the janitor took one look at her with all her things and let her in the building.             “I do not want you outside, it looks like it is fixing to rain. May I ask why you are here with a suitcase?"             "I got kicked out of my house and I was hoping to use the showers." I said.             "I have to make sure it is okay for you to shower after hours. I will be right back.” With that the janitor left.             Angel sat down waiting to hear if she could take a shower or not. When he came back, he simply shook his head no. She sighed and lowered her head fixing to leave but he stopped her before she could gather all her things.             “You are coming with me to my house for dinner then Aiden will take you to the pack house for a room to sleep in. You will also meet his dad and hopefully become an official member of our pack, but that is for him decide based on who really are. They cannot find any information about you in our werewolf database.”             “Werewolf database? What is that?” she asked very confused.             “It is a device where we enter your name and it tells everything about you, your family, your pack, things you have done, etc. but your name ‘Angelica Raven’ or Angel Raven’ did not pull up with anything.”             “Well that is because my real last name is not Raven. It is the name I have used since I was one. My real name is Angel Purplemoon.”             “Wait Purplemoon? As in the extinct Purplemoon clan?”             “My clan is extinct?”             “Well we all thought it was extinct, but you may have proven us all wrong. Let’s go eat and then we will talk with Aiden and his father. I am Aiden’s uncle. My name is Brian.”             His eyes went cloudy for a minute and she did not understand it. She did not know if she ever would, but it is something she needed to remember to ask Aiden. Once she noticed that his eyes are back to normal, she decides to speak.             “Well it is nice to meet you Brian, but why are you guys doing this for me?”             “Simple you are Aiden’s mate we will never turn away mates no matter what clan they came from, especially when the mate belongs to our future alpha.”             After that was said, they both left the school in silence and went to Brian’s house. His wife was holding a newborn baby and trying to finish dinner. Brian simply smiled and laughed then he took the baby from his wife while kissing her on the cheek and telling her that he loves her. He then turned around and walked away before making the introductions of everyone.             “Angel this is my wife Rose and my daughter Emma. Rose and Emma this is Angel. She is Aiden’s mate and apparently now homeless. Which gets to a question for you Angel, why are you homeless?”             Before she had time to answer Aiden and his father walked into the house. Aiden went straight up to Angel and kissed her before introducing her to his father.         “Angel, this is my father and current alpha of the Blackstar clan. His name in David. Dad this is my mate Angel.”         David reached out to shake her hand, so she followed with a simple and sweet “It’s nice to meet you, all of you. As for why I am homeless Brain that is a long story but if you guys are willing to listen to it, I will explain what I know, but I do know it is not the whole story. I got this letter from my birth parents, but I have not read it yet. It may have more information in it, but I do not know.”         “We will gladly listen to you story. We want to know more about you,” David said.         “Wait you are homeless now? Did you know you would be homeless at school earlier? You have the same sadness coming off you now as you did then,” questioned Aiden.         “I did not know I would be homeless for sure, but I did have a feeling about it based on things that have happened in my life up to that point. I will start with when I first heard my wolf, because that is as early as I can remember,” she said.         “Well dinner is done, and I want to hear this so let me put Emma down for a nap before you start your story please Angel.” Rose said as she was grabbing Emma from her dad, then she walked away.         Everyone got food on their plates and sat down to wait for Rose to get back before they started dinner and the story of Angel’s life up until this point of time in her life. Everyone was very curious as to who she was, and why her birthday caused her to be homeless. Once Rose got back and got her food, they all thanked her and waited for her to take the first bite before they did.         “Okay, Angel so now what happened when you first heard your wolf?” Rose asked while taking a bite of the dinner.         “Okay well I had just turned five when I heard her. All she told me was that her name was Starfire Purplemoon or Star for short, that my real name was Angel Purplemoon, and that I needed to find my own people. I did not know what to think at the time. I honestly thought I was going crazy. When I told my parents, they brushed it off and told me to never bring it up again. I knew if I told them that I was still hearing her they would lock me away or put me on medications, so I kept our conversations to myself. It was then that I also stopped talking to other kids because I did not want her to come up in conversations with the other kids. That was also when I started wearing wigs. Until my fifth birthday I had blonde hair but when I woke up that day my hair was purple and has been purple ever since.”         “Wait Purplemoon? As in the Purplemoon clan that was thought to be extinct.” David asked looking puzzled and giving his brother a strange look.         “Well I do not know anything about a clan but even Brian questioned it when I told him back at the school right before coming here to his house.” Angel said.         “So that is why you told us through our mind link to come meet her sooner because we would love to hear what she has to say.” David said to his brother.         “Exactly.” Brian said.         “Wait what is a mind link and is that why your eyes went foggy? Aiden mentioned it earlier today at school, but I do not know what that is.” Angel had to ask.         “Babe, a mind link is when we talk to each other through our minds, and yes it causes out eyes to go foggy. We are still here but we aren’t in a way.” Aiden said.         “I have never had that happen before.” Angel said.         “So, you have never mind linked with anyone before?” David asked.         “No, I have not. My parents are humans.” Angel said.         “That explains why they kicked you out. I can tell you that without you even finishing your story. They are not supposed to be around werewolves after a certain age until training is complete. That is why there are no humans in high school. We purposely separate them out. You could easily snap and attack them without meaning to. When you get angry it just happens.” David said.         “Well that eases my mind some but why did they keep me for five years after my first shift into my wolf form?” Angel asked.         “You shifted at the age of ten?” Rose asked puzzled.         “Yes, I did. It hurt a lot too. It was midnight on my tenth birthday, and I ended up waking up my parents from my screams. When I came back to my human form, they simply looked at me and said ‘As soon as you turn fifteen you will be homeless. We cannot have some werewolf running around here. You will put us all in danger when that time comes.’ They refused to speak to me for almost a whole year. They would say what they needed but nothing more, sometimes they would even say less. I was so lost and confused with only my wolf form to turn to and she knew nothing either. So, it became a very depressing time for me. It was then that I learned how stay to myself at the back of the classroom and never talk to anyone else. It was not until going to this high school that I learned that I am not so different from watching the other werewolves, witches and warlocks, and werecats. On my birthday, I decided to show everyone who I truly was. I wanted to break out of my shell and make friends with people who may understand me. I was hoping that my parents’ words would not have been true about making me homeless, which is why I did not mention it at school.” Angel said.         “Shifting does hurt until you get used to it, but as for the why they did not kick you out sooner, the other humans, vampires, witches and warlocks, and werecats, cannot pick up on the magical part of you until your fifteenth birthday when your powers and energy jumps out. So, they protected you as long as they could without you all ending up dead or locked up. They could have even known sooner that you were a werewolf which is why they wanted you to be quite when you first heard your wolf talking to you. It takes someone of your species to tell what you are before you fifteenth birthday which is why we separate out the kids for high school. When the middle schoolers start, they go through of series meeting different people. That is because we test the waters to see if you are magical or not.” David said giving her some clarification and answers she needed.         “I shifted every year on my birthday since and today it did not hurt me at all.” Angel said.         “Well that is a plus it did not hurt. Most werewolves it does not stop hurting until they have shifted a good twenty times or more. You are definitely a unique werewolf. My son is very lucky to have you as his mate.” David said.         “Thank you, David. I just wish I knew more about who I am and who my parents were. Maybe their note will explain it when I get some time to sit down and read it. I do know that the humans who raised me want me to go visit them again when I am older so they can meet my mate. I guess it will be after training is all done, but their letter to me and your explanation at least tells me that they do actually love me and care for me as if I was their own daughter.” Angel said.         “We will get you trained up as well give you housing. You can choice one of two housing locations. You can have a room of your own in the pack house or you can live with us and stay in the room with your mate. I know it is sudden, especially with just learning all of this, but usually mates live together right away anyway, but the choice will be yours.” David said.         “Okay. Thank you, and I think I want to stay with Aiden. He makes me feel safe and not so lonely.” Angel said.         “I will gladly take you in babe. I hated having to come back to the pack without you.” Aiden said.         “Well dinner was delicious, as always Rose, but we really need to be headed back to the house. I have to look into Angel’s real name for her and she needs to have time to get settled in.” David said.         “Thank you and I completely understand. Thank you all for having dinner with us.” Rose said.         Once everyone said their goodbyes, they left Brian’s and Rose’s house and went to Aiden’s house while his dad went back to his office to see what he could find out about Angel, her family, and her old pack. On their way there Angel had a few questions for David.         “David, I have some things to ask you.” Angel said         “Okay. What are they?” David asked.         “Well first one is why would I have heard my wolf so early and shifted so early?” Angel asked.         “It has to do with you being an alpha. We start their training at the age of five so that when they get to be eighteen, they can take over the clan. You just did not have anyone to train you, so your wolf stayed hidden away for another five years, but it knew it needed to be out and training which is why the forced shift happened so early. What else bothers you?” David asked.         “Well I knew that Aiden was my mate at the start of the school year, but he did not notice me until I no longer hid my hair. Did the wigs stop him from noticing me sooner?” Angel asked.         “He questioned this too and the answer is yes. Your smell comes off your head most the times so when you blocked that with the wig it hid your smell. When you finally decided to show your true colors it also let him smell you. If you would have went without the wig only, he would have been able to smell you before your fifteenth birthday. Do you have any other questions?” David asked.         “Just one. I told a few of the teachers what my true name was at the start of the school year and they simply blew me off and stopped talking to me. Why is that?” Angel asked.         “Sadly, I do not know the answer to that question but if you tell me their names, I can figure it out. If they are from my clan and did not tell me then I will have words with them because they know better.” David said.         “Oh okay. Well thank you. I will give a list of their names later.” Angel said.         “So, is that all the questions that you have for me?” David asked.         “Yes, for now. I am sure I will probably have more later.” Angel said.         “Well I will always try to answer them for you. Aiden take her inside and help her get settled into your room. I have to go to my office and see what the name Angel Purplemoon brings up. Goodbye for now Angel and Aiden.” David said.         “Goodbye David.” Angel said.         “Goodbye dad.” Aiden said to his dad. “Shall we go to my room and unpack your things?” Aiden asked while turning to his house and reaching out for my hand.         “We shall,” Angel said grabbing Aiden’s hand and following him into the house.
