Meet the ice Prince
Seth's Pov
My eyes widened at the sight of my mother entering my room while I was getting dressed, with a smirk on her face, I immediately jumped into my bed, covering my half naked self with the covers and pretended to be snoring.
I knew why she was here, the same thing she has been saying to me ever since Astrid came back from her studies in France. That talk always left me frustrated.
"I know you're awake, you're bad at pretending," sitting herself on my bed, beside me. I groaned feeling so bad for being caught and got out of my covers, ready for my morning to be spoilt.
"Why are you here?" I sighed deeply, not bothered to hide my displeasure in seeing her.
"Am your mother Seth, what kind of question is that?" Her eyebrows furrowed as she eyed me.
The door was suddenly opened making us both turn to look at Viktor, my body guard and right hand man.
"Viktor, didn't I tell you to not let her in?"
"I tried boss, but I couldn't stop her"
My mom smirked at Viktor one of her hands went up to lift her sunglasses. "I wish my son was as sweet as you Viktor. I wish."
I rolled my eyes at her. If this was another way to guilty trip me, she was so wasting her time. "You may adopt him, if you want to."
"Seth!" She scolded, shooting me a glare.
"What! If you want me to be like him so much, you may as well as make him your son too."
"Seth Mikhail Nikolai, how dare you ... I cut her off by throwing the covers off me hoping she will run away but she didn't. I stood up, went to the other side of the room where I zipped my pants from. Having a hot headed mother sure is so frustrating, she never gives up once she wants something. I've done everything he and father have ever asked of me but not this time. What they are asking of me is too much. I can't marry someone I don't love, marriage as never even been in my plans.
"Your dad sent me here for an answer, are you going to marry Astrid or not." She asked only to hear the unsatisfying answer, I always give her, "No."
"That's bullshit," She replied, causing my eyes to widen. It's not unusual to hear women in our society curse, I've met alot of women who swear like crazy in bed. But this was legally the first time I heard my mom.
"Excuse me? Did I just hear you curse in my bedroom" I rose an eyebrow, waiting for her to continue on as she took a few steps closer towards me. Her right hand resting on my shoulder.
"Believe me son, you're going to marry Astrid, she is the perfect wife for you. Her family is so influ.."
"So??" I didn't let her continue with her blurting. I knew why dad was doing this, he wanted peace between us and the Vldamir Bratva. But what I didn't understand was why mom was so hell bent on me marrying that girl.
"Tell me son, why don't you want to marry her. The girl is so gorgeous, infact she is better than all those bitches I've seen you parading around with."
Am not that old or ugly that I can't find a wife for myself, for f***s sake am only 22. I can control my own life.
"I barely know anything about her. That's why I won't marry her."
"Seth, she was your best friend ever since you were five, how can you say you don't know her."
"Stop it mom, honestly stop it. She went to France when we were 10. It's been 12 years, fuckin 12 years ever since I last saw her. She is a whole new person to me mom, I don't want to marry Astrid and that's my final answer, say that to dad too. Why the hell, do you want me to marry her so much?"
"Because you're my son and I want the best for you. And Astrid is the perfect match for you my dear. I know you Seth, I carried you in my womb for nine months, I suckled you, I raised you my malysh. Believe me when I say Astrid is perfect for you"
There was no use arguing with a stubborn woman like her so I chose to stay quiet. She stood up from the bed, kissed my cheek and walked to the door.
I took a sigh of relief, hoping I had survived her, only for her to stop in the middle of the door and turn to me." Am going to tell your dad, you said yes. So get ready the wedding is in two days."
" You can't do that mom, you can't force me to marry her" I answered and she rose an eyebrow, her lips curving up into one of her devious smiles before chuckling. “ I would like to see you try to stop me."
"I won't marry her, I swear I won't. I would rather shoot myself in the head than marry that girl of yours," My voice was raising as I tried my best to control my temper but I wasn't sure I could hold it in, am not one to control anger.
"I can do as I wish. Have a nice day Viktor, please get some breakfast for my son." I was about say another word when she got lost out of the door.
I quickly put on my shirt, buttoned it up, not forgetting the coat and some cologne, grabbed my phone from the bedside table and hurried past Viktor who knew better to follow me than to make me wait.
"What's the schedule?" I asked.
“You have a meeting with the Mexican cartel in an hour." I paused looked at my watch, an hour. It's funny how time goes by so fast, it was just a few years when my mom was stopping me from chasing over girls and now she was forcing me to get married to one I don't even love. I turned around to Viktor, who was waiting patiently for my order.
"Cancel it."
"But it's a very important meeting, your father will flip if he finds out you cancelled and their don wouldn't take it so lightly," he stuttered while rolling my eyes, taking a few steps closer towards him as I harden my gaze.
Everybody in my father's gang has always been careful whenever speaking to me, they are all aware of my bad temper.
"I said cancel it. Do as I say, Viktor. We both know I hate repeating myself." I spoke and for some reason he gulped, beads of sweat begun to form on his forehead as he nodded.
"Good," I slapped his chest lightly, cleaning imaginary dust off his coat, with a small smile appearing on my face before I pressed the elevator button and we both got in.
The elevator was filled with Silence yet my head was banging with thoughts, I just couldn't marry Astrid, I couldn't destroy my life like this and just toss it away. It's my marriage not my parent's, I didn't arrange there marriage so why are they arranging mine. I won't let this happen, I won't.
I didn't even realize the elevator had stopped until Viktor touched my shoulder. "We are here."
I looked up from the elevator floor, only to find four of my other body guards looking at me. Guess, I had zoned out.
They gave me greetings and smiles as usual I ignore them and walked out, meeting with Dimitri who was already waiting beside my car. He opened the door for me, letting me enter the backseat while Viktor went straight towards the passenger's seat.
"Where to Young boss?" Dimitri asked as usual.
"To the airport."
"What the f**k!" Viktor gasped dropping the papers he was holding. He looked like he was about to have a heart attack.
"What is it Viktor, did I say something wrong?" I asked, meeting his gaze in the rear view mirror.
"No sir, it's just that ma'am said your wedding is in two days. What will she say if she finds out you're out of the country."
"Who pays you? Is it me or Elena Nikolai?" I raised an eyebrow at him.
"It's you sir, it's you." He said his hands shaking, poor guy he looked like he was about to throw himself out of the window. He fears my mom so much and I don't blame him, she's pretty psycho when she wants to.
"I thought so," I cleared my throat, leaned back into my seat, turning to look out the window.
"Viktor," I called and he turned around to face me. "Yes, young boss."
"Call Lylon."
"Okay sir," he looked inside his pocket fumbled until he got his phone out. His hands were still shaking. Godd! Am I that scary, scary enough to turn a heavy muscled man like him into a puddle. It's true what my dad said, when you have money and power you can make everything and everyone on the World bow to you. Everything bows to my name because I have it all.
"What should I tell him sir," he asked scrolling through his phone.
I looked down at my wrist watch, che cking the time as I saw Dimitri turn to the express airport road. Then my eyes wandering back to Viktor.
"Tell him, we will be landing in Newyork, in four hours."
"Yes, young boss," he muttered before getting back to his phone.
My eyes travelled to outside the window again, where it was shinning brightly, I could see the bird's flying with so much freedom in the air. That's the kind of freedom I wanted, if my parents think they could just take that away from me. Then they were so wrong. Because I won't let them, over my dead body.
