The aftermath of the wedding drama was a blur of police reports and lawyer meetings. Daphne was shaken but determined to move forward. Emmason was her rock, always there to support her. A week after the wedding, Daphne and Emmason sat in Ms. Mwangi's office, going over the court papers. "So, Alex's visitation rights are suspended?" Daphne asked, her voice firm. Ms. Mwangi nodded. "Yes, pending the investigation. But we'll need to be careful. Alex isn't going to go down without a fight." Emmason's expression was grim. "We'll be ready." Daphne took a deep breath. "What's next?" Ms. Mwangi smiled. "You two enjoy your honeymoon. Leave the rest to me." Daphne and Emmason exchanged a look. They'd postponed their honeymoon plans due to the drama. "Sounds like a plan," Emmason said, smiling. They spent the next few days relaxing on a beach in Zanzibar, the ocean waves washing away the stress. Natasha was happy, playing in the sand. One evening, as they watched the sunset, Emmason turned to Daphne. "You know what I'd love?" Daphne raised an eyebrow. "What?" Emmason's eyes sparkled. "A baby. With you." Daphne's heart skipped a beat. "I'd love that." They shared a kiss as the stars came out. Back in Uganda, life settled into a happy routine. Daphne and Emmason were adjusting to married life, and Natasha was thriving. A few months later, Daphne woke up feeling nauseous. She looked at Emmason, her eyes wide. "I think I'm pregnant." Emmason's face lit up. "Really?" Daphne nodded, laughing. "Really." The pregnancy was a whirlwind of excitement and adjustments. Daphne and Emmason were overjoyed, Natasha was thrilled to be a big sister, and Marion was busy spoiling them. At the 20-week scan, Daphne and Emmason found out they were having a boy. "We're having a mini-Emmason!" Daphne laughed. Emmason grinned. "Or a mini-Daphne troublemaker." The nursery was a flurry of pink and blue decorations, with Natasha helping pick out toys. Daphne's friends threw her a beautiful baby shower, and Emmason's colleagues surprised him with a dad-to-be party. Life was full of laughter and love. One evening, as Daphne was putting Natasha to bed, the little girl looked up at her. "Mama, is the baby boy coming soon?" Daphne smiled. "Yes, baby. Soon." Natasha nodded, hugging her belly. "I love him already." Daphne's heart melted. This was it. Pure happiness. A few weeks before the due date, Daphne's contractions started. Emmason rushed her to the hospital, Marion and Natasha tagging along. As they wheeled Daphne into the delivery room, Emmason's voice was calm. "You got this, Daphne." Daphne laughed through contractions. "Easy for you to say!" The hours passed in a blur of pain and pushing. Finally, a tiny cry filled the room. Daphne's eyes welled up as Emmason cut the cord. "It's a boy!" They placed the baby on Daphne's chest. "Welcome, baby Theo," she whispered. Emmason kissed her, tears in his eyes. "We did it, Daphne." The days flew by in a haze of sleepless nights and baby cuddles. Daphne and Emmason were smitten with Theo, and Natasha was a proud big sister, showing him off to everyone. As they settled into life with the baby, Daphne realized something was off. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she felt...restless. One night, as Emmason was rocking Theo to sleep, Daphne voiced it. "Emmason, I think I want to go back to work." Emmason looked up, surprised but supportive. "Really? You sure?" Daphne nodded. "Yeah. I love being a mom, but I miss my career." Emmason smiled. "We'll make it work. What do you need?" Daphne's mind started racing. "Maybe I can freelance part-time? And we can adjust schedules?" Emmason's eyes lit up. "Sounds like a plan." The next few weeks were a flurry of job hunting and childcare arrangements. Daphne landed a few freelance gigs, and Emmason adjusted his schedule to help. As Daphne started working from home, she felt a sense of balance she'd missed. Theo was happy in his cradle nearby, and Natasha was thriving in preschool. One evening, as they were putting the kids to bed, Daphne turned to Emmason. "You know what? I'm really happy." Emmason smiled, pulling her close. "Me too. We've got this, Daphne." The night ended with laughter and cuddles, the future looking bright. Daphne's freelance work took off, and she found a rhythm that worked for her and the family. Emmason was her biggest supporter, pitching in with the kids and household stuff. One day, Daphne got an email from a big client she'd worked with before. They wanted her for a major project – in Nairobi. Daphne's heart skipped a beat. "Emmason, look at this." Emmason's eyes widened. "That's amazing! You'll crush it." Daphne hesitated. "But...the kids?" Emmason pulled her close. "We'll make it work. Marion can help, and I'll tag along if needed." Daphne smiled. "Okay. I'll do it." The project was a success, and Daphne's confidence soared. She and Emmason were a team, balancing work and family. As they celebrated with the kids, Daphne realized something. "Emmason, I think we're getting good at this adult thing." Emmason laughed. "I think we are." The night ended with laughter, cuddles, and plans for their next adventure.
