Chapter Seventy-Seven Francesca heard Reese’s car drive away. She assumed Paul was with her, as he wasn’t banging on her door anymore. She sat up, managed to pull herself to her feet, and waddled over to the front window. The car was gone. The clock on the wall said it was 15:22. Sat listening to Paul pleading to be let back in made her miss lunch. She couldn’t have eaten anything had she tried; her stomach was tied up in knots. How could she be back to square one?
