Chapter Sixty-Five
“I’ll go check on progress for you.” Kate bowed to her table of four, who were yet to receive their main courses. “My sincerest apologies.”
“I should think so. We’ve been waiting forty-five minutes.” The beady-eyed woman with pointy features stared intently at her. “After we heard such good things about this place, too. The food had better arrive soon, my dear, or I’ll be submitting a review on Tripadvisor.”
“I’m sure it’ll be ready very soon.” Turning to run to the kitchen, as Kate sped away an arm grabbed her wrist. She stood in front of a table of six diners, who were as keen on receiving their desserts as the previous table were on tucking into their mains. “I’m on my way to the kitchen now. I’ll bring your desserts out in two shakes of a lamb’s tail.”
