This was the most awkward lunch of my life, and I wished it would end sooner.
Giovanni and Valerie were chatting amicably, as if they were old friends, and I was just sitting there, staring at them with narrowed eyes.
Sitting with my ex husband's brother and having lunch like old time friends was definitely not on my bucket list, but seeing someone genuinely show interest in my best friend, be it the last man in the world I wanted her to be with, made me happy.
I'd always told her that there was someone out there for her, but she hadn't met the right one just yet. So, seeing her smile and laugh the way she did, it was nice.
