"Ah," he nodded. "I see. Well, it was nice seeing you. And thank you for accompanying me to lunch. But, I really should be going. Business never sleeps."
He rose from his seat, then leaned down to kiss the back of both Valerie and I's hands.
"Ladies. It was an honor. Hopefully, our paths cross again. Soon."
"Yeah, maybe," Valerie said, waving him goodbye.
"Wait—" I muttered before I could stop myself, but I needed to get it out my chest. "Is Dominic in the country too? Are you two together?"
Giovanni smirked, but shook his head. "Don't worry your little head, Hailey. He's not in the country. It's just me. And like I said, it was an honor. Until next time."
