Once Isabella disappeared from view, I let out a quiet sigh of relief.
But the relief was short-lived—what I’d just overheard about my biological father had just fully sunk in and stirred a deep confusion inside me.
My wolf couldn’t believe it either, her presence bristling at the edges of my mind.
‘What does that mean?’ she whispered, her voice shaky. ‘If Alpha Gideon isn’t our father… then who are we?’
The certainty we’d always carried—that pride of belonging to an Alpha’s bloodline—fractured like glass. I felt her pacing, restless and unsettled, claws scraping against the walls of my chest.
