I manage to crawl back into bed, not caring about the blood staining my dress and skin. I'm not sure what is mine and what is Alexanne's. I lie in the dark, staring up at the ceiling. It hasn't even passed three in the morning. It occurs to me for the first time to wonder where Antonin was. Everything would have been so much more different if he was here. But would it have been better? Sure, Alexanne and I wouldn't have torn each other to pieces, but maybe I wouldn't have received some answers. I'm not sure if they are truthful answers, but they are answers none the less. I still can't tell whether Alexanne was telling the truth about Grace. I turn her words over and over, but they still don't make sense. Nothing about Alexanne makes sense. Maybe she didn't take Grace. Who did, then?
