Kane’s P.O.V.
I was sitting on a big couch near the fireplace in the living room, staring at the burning wood; the sound of the wood burning was constantly making me uneasy, a strange feeling was bothering me. Was it because I had spared someone's life for the first time or something else was bothering me? I didn't know. I had always been a beast to enemies, a ferocious beast that would attack his prey in any case, but an innocent face had defeated this trait. Even through the burning wood in the fire, the same innocent face was coming in front of me that I failed to kill. I felt like Mia was laughing at my weakness. It was as if a woman had defeated me. It was not in my nature to be merciful.
“No, Kane can't be that weak. I'll end it now.” I made up my mind and then slammed the glass of jam on wood, which ignited the fire and the flames shot up to the ceiling, making me laugh mockingly from each flame. This idea seemed to fuel the fire burning inside me.
“What thoughts are you lost in, Kane? You should organize a celebration today.’ Julia approached me. She was in a short dress designed to expose more than cover her body. I didn’t want her at that time, so I ignored her but she sat on the arm of the couch and slid into my lap.
“This horror of yours will surely kill me today.” She said in a loving tone, but I was not in a mood today. I pushed her hard and threw her to the ground and then placed my foot on her face. She was a slave of mine. I can do whatever I want. I was panting with anger, I wanted to take out all my anger on Julia. She was screaming in pain. I gave her a bump and left in a rage.
I had gone to the city to look for Mia, who had left the city. I kept looking for her in the streets, but where was she going to be found? She left the city secretly.
The mafia king, Kane, was obsessed with killing Eric's sister Mia, and with each passing time, this anger was boiling like fire. Only Mia's blood could cool my anger.
My own decision was being challenged by myself. I was destroying everything in my path. Who was there to stop me at that moment?
I tried to search for her but to no avail and when I started forgetting her, she was found in a small town.
One cold winter's evening, she was wearing a large overcoat on her body, working at the store. I recognized her in a moment, the innocent face, shining eyes. She was Mia. My burning heart seemed to have calmed down. A smile crept on to my lips and I didn’t even realize it. She was in front of me and I couldn’t control my emotions. All the hatred and enmity were left behind. I moved toward her in a trance.
“How are you, my doll?” I asked in a soft tone. I was surprised at myself. This was not my style. She raised her head startled and the next moment she was scared. She did not say anything. I turned around and went inside the counter.
“Why did you leave your house, little girl?” I reached out to her and held her hand.
I was not in my senses; I caressed her cheek and kissed her hand gently. People were looking at us but I didn’t care. I was just looking at her, smiling. Her eyes were stuck on my face. I enjoyed her shocking expressions. But the next moment was shocking for me; she jerked my hand away and slapped me. In an instant, my expression changed. I suddenly remembered who I am. I was Alpha Kane, how dare she slap me? I couldn’t bear this. All my soft expression turned into anger. My face was burning with anger. I turned away and left. But this was not ending. This was the beginning of her painful life. I was not going to forgive her this time. No one can save her from my clutches this time.
I signaled to my guards and headed to my car. Now I had to do something to cool myself down.
