SOAKING WET!

568 Words
The sound of the rain is something I love. as well as the natural earthen smell. As I walked down the street, water from the falling rain kept splashing on my feet and I love it. I kept looking around the houses and shops as well as passerbys because the streetlights were available to lead the way. I miss all my childhood friends. They must have all grown by now, beautiful and handsome. I wish I can get the opportunity to meet them again. back in those days, I had this male friend who was always willing to support me whenever my parents are scolding me for always sneaking out of the house to go play in the rain. And my brother would always laugh at me when my parents are scolding me for my silliness. The boy was a very good mere friend. I have forgotten his name. We weren't that close. He lives in the neighboring street. I only used to see him when I'm outside especially when I'm playing in the rain or playing hide-and-seek with my female friends. I decided to cross over to the other side of the road but a heavy breeze blew off my umbrella. I was surprised. by the time I could turn to grab hold of the umbrella,it already flew far away. This is something I feared to happen. now, I'm becoming drenched. My hair is already damped. infact,it is completely wet. My blue pants and polo are already soaking wet. Geez! My parents are not going to spare me at all. Who will believe me if I tell them how I got drenched? Anyways, I traced the direction my umbrella was flying to and I saw it fall against a gentle guy who was standing by the road side waiting for a cab. I ran to that direction and just as I was about to pick up my umbrella, I accidentally nudged the guy and he lost hold of his umbrella. I saw how he turned to me with a glare. But, I'm really innocent so I kept on apologizing. "I'm sorry..” I said and then I rushed to grab his umbrella then, I returned it to him. "I'm really sorry” I apologized again because I was feeling guilty for getting him drenched. it was a mistake, though. I decided to fold my umbrella. There's no need living it open. I'm already wet. in fact, I'm beginning to enjoy this. I feel like spreading out my hands and welcoming the heavenly rain but I don't want to be mocked by the people around. I can't risk to be called crazy. "You seem to be enjoying this weather” I heard the guy optimistically ask me. I laughed. "yes. I love it. this weather is my favorite.” "wow! That's nice. I love it too but now being matured is something different.... oops,my car is here!” I was surprised to hear the guy say that. I was really enjoying the things he was saying until the cab he ordered for arrived. I was sadened. It's not fair. it surprises me to see that people with the same interests I have still exists. Everyone is now matured. No one can come out to play under the rain. oops! I almost forgot that my dad must still be waiting for me. I picked up a pace with my walking.
