I MISS THOSE DAYS
I watched through my window as the rain poured down heavily in the outside. The sound, the natural earthen smell of the rain is something I love so much that I feel like jumping outside and standing under the rain so that the heavenly water will drench me. Whenever it's about to rain, I prepare myself for the weather. it's chilling and satisfying for me. I love it when it rains mostly at night then, I will have to have a good night sleep. so sound. Gone are the days when kids love to play under the rain. I miss those days. once it starts to rain, I play around. I make sure I get myself drenched and atimes,my feet will be filled with muds depending on the areas I had my rain plays. Ha ha ha! Those memories are intriguing. "Evie!" I heard my mom call me. her voice was coming from the living room. she's interrupting my special moment of admiring the rainfall. There's this mythology saying that states that 'a kid acts or behaves like the meaning of his or her name' if you don't believe in the myth, I do because just like my name 'Evie' means 'life' , I love everything about nature. there's no doubt at all. "Evie!" I heard my mom call me again. it must be something important. I immediately left my room and headed towards the living room. My beautiful mom was seated on the couch, watching one of her favorite evening program. When she saw me,she began to glare at me. "You were doing it again, weren't you?" she asked in a ridiculous way. she guessed it right. She's much aware of how much I love to play under the rain. That's one of my cherishable memories. I could remember those gone days when I will sneak out of the house just to go and play in the rain and my mom will worriedly be looking for me around the house. My silly behavior back then will be a topic of an argument between her and my dad. it's not my fault. Playing in the rain gives me joy and I could barely catch a cold. My parents worry for no reason. I started laughing at my mom's unnecessary nagging. I can't even explain why I'm foolishly laughing. "Sometimes, you need to act matured, Evie!" She suddenly scolded me. I chuckled because this one is more funny. Why is she saying something that's unnecessary? "But, I'm already matured." I insisted. "No, you're not!" she strongly disagreed with me. "Anyways, your dad just called me on phone. He wants you to bring an umbrella for him. he is waiting at the bus stop" she finally conveyed the main message. Ohh. How come he wants me to bring an umbrella for him? My dad has a Mercedes car but the little thing is always disturbing him. it can be disgraceful atimes. He has the money to buy a new car but he's just stressing himself by managing that silly car. Probably, the car broke down along the road. "What about his car?" I asked my mom. "it broke down" she unhappily answered. I know why she sounded like that. she has also asked him severally to buy a new car but the man won't listen. he's just too stubborn. "Why won't he buy a new car?!" I thoughtfully asked. "save the advice for him!" She snapped at me. Anyways, there's no need troubling her. she's more focused on her TV series. I headed to the storeroom to go get the umbrella. When I reached there, the stuff was still in its usual spot. I took it and headed back to the living room. "I'm going" I informed. First of all, I'm still surprised my Mom is letting me go outside while it's raining. Well,if my elder brother, Elvis, was around,he would have been the one to do this errand instead of me. "Evie, don't be silly!" my Mom warned me. I secretly chuckled. I'm twenty for goodness sake but my parents won't just understand. Anyways, I haven't been around for a very long time. I live in a hostel. My college is not around this city. My institution is on holiday so I came home few days ago. it still surprises me to see my parents still being strict on me as if I'm still that little Evie. I'm matured now. it's not like I'm going to let the rain pour on me when I'm with an umbrella. I really wish to relive those memories but it's impossible. I unfolded the umbrella and stepped out of the house.
