For a moment Stan was in a trance, staring at the departing figures, in his head he kept on hearing the same voice "Mate". Alpha Cedrick held his hand and sat him down . He mind linked him. Alpha Cedrick asked him. "So is is she your mate?" " Yes" responded Stan. What is a mate?" "My son that is a shewolf that is given to you by the goddess, she's going to be your wife, our Luna" said Alpha Cedrick. "No i already have a fiancée." said Stan. "You still have a lot to learn son." Alpha Cedrick cut the link as Joey enters followed by a servants carrying snacks and drinks.

Luna Monica hurriedly runs towards the trees and starts texting on her cellphone. She sends the message to Beta, she also sends the location to him. She sits on a rock only to look back and see Johanna staring at the pack house window. She calls Johanna who doesn't even hear her, she runs back to her and drag her to the forest. What? he's my mate" said Johanna. " Stop it, you will get us killed. We are not supposed to be in these grounds" Luna Monica yells at Johanna. "How come mama? It means he is not dad's son. he cant be my mate, he ....." they hear sounds of footsteps. They froze waiting for their death. Beta appears and Luna Monica runs to him and hugs him. "My Beta you came. Thank God you came." She hugs him as she is crying. "I will never forsake you" He says as he wipes away her tears. " You are the only one I can trust and at this moment my life depends on you" said Luna Monica. "Im going to protect you, be your shelter in stormy weather, be your shade in hot summer sun. I will always be by your side" He hugs her tighter. Johanna stares at the two people couple confused."Mama this is not papa" Luna Monica turns glaring back at Johanna "Go and look after your brother" She puts her head on Beta chest as Johanna walks to the nearest rock and kneels next to her brother's body.

Joey sits next to Stan and offers her a cup of coffee. "My nephew welcome home. Im sorry I betrayed both you and your father but now everything is going to be alright. And I'm going to personally thank the woman who raised you to be such a good man" said Zoey

"I don't care anyway this is not my home. My home is where I'm going tomorrow."

"Brother when are you officially welcoming him to the pack? The pack members need to know their Alpha"

"The ceremony will be tomorrow...

"Whose ceremony? Sorry to disappoint you I won't be here tomorrow to celebrate with you. I'm leaving at dawn. My fiancee is waiting for me."

" My son your people need you, you are their alpha" said Alpha Cedrick.

" They need to mourn the death of their alpha John." he said as he gets up and leave the room.

"My Luna let's get ready we have a long way to go, and by sunrise I need to be back here doing my duties."

Beta said as clears an area and starts making measurements by counting his strides.

"We will bury John here, may the soul of our alpha rest in eternal peace."He says as he bows with respect. And starts digging.

" What do you think you are doing? Whose funeral is it? Yours?" asked the Luna.

"We have to bury him here in the alpha grounds, among his pack members. He's the alphas son after all, he was the future alpha."

" Let's go we don't have time to waste here. We have more important things to do" said the Luna.

" No Monica it's too risky and dangerous we can't carry a body with us."

"Im not burying my son. come" she drags him. pointing at John she says " Only dead bodies needs to be buried."

Beta is in a shock as he sees John.

"He's alive, he's still alive." He is excited

He sprints towards John and touches his pulse, Johanna is helping him to drink water.

" My daughter has healing hands, she can wake the dead" Luna says proudly.

After a thorough check Beta is satisfied with John's recovery. "Let's take him to that rock under the big tree. My car is waiting there. I will take you to my cousins pack, you will stay there, no one will ever know that you are there."

"What I'm going nowhere. This is my pack, I'm the Luna of Darkmoon pack. Im not going to that filthy pack of yours." said Luna Monica.

"You will be safe there and John will recover with the help of the packs doctor."

" Mama you are right we can't go there, daddy will come to fetch is." said Johanna.

"Daddy exiled you. At this moment you are rogue you belong to this forest, you are the lowest of the low"

"Beta don't you ever forget who you are speaking to. Im your Luna." Beta opens his mouth to speak but quickly clamps it.

There's an awkward silence, Beta clears his throat but doesn't speak. "Let's get going, I hope everything is well prepared at your house" said Luna Monica

"My house? No Monica I cannot. What will Alpha Cedrick do to me when he finds out that you are staying at my house?"

"He will never find out. Or you will tell him? He stares Beta straight in the eye.

"No but ...

"What. you want John to die, he cannot travel in this condition. He needs a rest and a comfortable place to heal properly."

"No I can't, I won't. it's either you go to my cousins pack or you become rogue. That's it." He turns and walk away. Luna Monica touches his arm, he pushes her away, she falls down. Beta continue walking without looking back. Luna Monica shouts at him

" Lawrence are you leaving your son to die in the forest, will you allow your daughter to be rogue?" Beta turns swiftly and missed a step. " What did you just say?" Rushing closer she shakes Luna Monica by the shoulders "Speak woman"

" Don't act as if you didn't figure it out, they look like you, I lost my virginity to you, they were born prematurely." she laughs at the shocked Beta.
