Chapter 3The receptionists at the office looked at me funny after I cheerfully wished them a good morning. “Someone got laid last night,” one of the receptionists whispered to the other. They were two older ladies who had worked at my architecture firm since before there was even a HR department. If HR had been around back then, they wouldn’t have made it past the interview due to their dirty mouths and crass jokes. Most employees ignored the judgmental things they muttered to each other, but today I felt emboldened. “Not yet, but fingers crossed!” I called back, and their jaws dropped. God, it felt good to be alive today. I couldn’t stop thinking about Eduardo and our flirty conversation after class. Not only did I meet an attractive guy my age, he was single. And interested in me!
