Jay was angry, as she took in the expression of the three men before her. She knew that look well, they had no clue. "You don't know?" Her hand slid from that of her comforter and she turned away.
"Jay!" Henri yelled for her but she was already on the move and her pace was increasing. "Shit." Henri sighed and the three men moved to intercept the woman.
Jay had set her attention to the smell and was no longer in the position to hear anyone. This was personal, and they would learn that soon enough. She moved quickly, feeling how loose her clothes really fit. They were not desirable for running, with one exhale she shifted and took off at full run, the acidic smell filling her nostrils. She briefly heard the men say something behind her, but her attention was on the scent. No warlock would remain standing as long as she lived. The vendetta between her and warlocks rising up in her spirit, pushing her to run harder and faster. Scarlet urged her on, the scent becoming more pronounced as she entered the forest and moved away from the pack village. She paused briefly, getting the direction right as the wind shifted. A forty-five degree turn and she was off again, sliding to a stop in front of a small cottage.
The smoke came up from the chimney and the tall man out front continued to work on the buck he had on the fire. His eyes narrowed on the auburn wolf that entered his property. His lanky features gave him an almost sickly look to him.
"That's far enough, wolf." He stood tall and reached his left hand out, a staff came swiftly across the small space to his side. His sunken eyes visible, as he regarded the intruder.
Jay snarled and stepped on to his land, watching as his hands began to move intricately about him. Prepared for what he was about to do, Jay broke into a run. As she was nearly atop him, she shifted into her human form and uttered a now familiar word, "Katestraménos." She watched as fear came across the warlocks eyes as she walked upon him confidently.
Henri's voice was heard in the distance, they were very close to the small yard that she stood in and yet still didn't see her. She smiled back at the warlock and shook her head. "Tsk tsk..." she half smiled and spoke another word with confidence, "Apokálypsi." A shimmer moved about the building and edge of the yard, and Jay heard the men yelling.
"She's naked again." An exasperated voice spoke from behind her, Jay assumed it was the third man she had not yet learned the name of.
Jay kept her eyes on the warlock before her. She was ready to cast him out, her smirk was smug as she took in the ugly male.
"What the hell?" The men behind her began to cough and Jay watched as the bindings that held him in place were about to give way. She glanced to Henri and saw him choking on the air about him. The acidic smell of a warlock affected wolves, but not like this. Jay turned toward the warlock, his eyes on the Alpha.
Heat rose up in Jay's chest from the pit of her gut, she was angry. She had not felt anger like this before, this was possessive. She set her eyes on the soul of the warlock. The dark pit that he held for a soul, what was left after he sold it for his powers. Jay eyed it closely and spoke loudly, all her energy put into the one word, "Aposynthéto!"
The scream that came from the mouth of the warlock was blood curdling. His body pulled into the black pit of a soul, sucked inside itself. The rancid smell of acid leaving with him. The spells he had cast on the clearing left with him, as the 4 stood in a meadow in the middle of the forest. The artificial space that was once created, gone. Jay fell to one knee, took several deep breaths and then rose. Her eyes turned to take in the men before her. Fear was evident on Eli's face, then as if a light was switched on, he turned to Jay with revelation in his eyes.
"Impossible." Eli spoke under his breath.
"What?" The tall, dark man asked as he looked to Eli.
"Nothing." Eli shook his head, his eyes not leaving Jay.Henri looked back to Eli, then walked over to Jay. He pulled his shirt from his chest and quickly put it over Jay's body, leaving him in a thin tank top. "You couldn't have disrobed first?"
Jay looked up to Henri as her head came through the collar of the shirt, "How did you not smell it?"
"How did you?" The tall dark male approached cautiously, "Most wolves don't even know what that smell means."
Jay rolled her shoulders and stood her full height, "I've been hunting them my entire life." Her eyes looked through the green orbs of the man before her, examining his soul.
The man's head turned away, unable to hold the gaze that was upon him.
"Let's get you out of here." Henri took Jay's hand, pulling her close to him. The three men escorted the woman to the pack house.
They were a while into their walk back when the tall one spoke up. He positioned himself to Jay's right.
"So," he glanced to Jay, "how long have you been on your own?"
Jay looked over to him, "Umm..." she pointed to the man.
"Sebastian." He said.
"Well, Sebastian," she repeated, "I've been on my own a very long time."
"Have you been..." his voice trailed off and he waved his hand to the space behind him, "the whole time?"
"I've been a hunter since my 16th birthday."
"So it was your wolf that made the difference." Eli spoke up from the left of Henri.
"No." Jay stated, blandly.
"No?" Eli asked, he turned to Jay with his brow furrowed.
"No, my wolf changed nothing. She's the same as when I was born." Jay positioned herself under Henri's arm, letting him pull her tight to him. They were instep with each other perfectly and she wanted to soak in his scent.
"Umm..."
"That's enough questions." Henri spoke up, cutting off Eli's probing mind. He was known for asking too many questions and while it made him invaluable it also got him in trouble. Eli nodded to his alpha and turned his attention back to the path before them.
"Just so you know," Sebastian chimed in, "Asia will want to get to know you."
Jay looked to Henri for answers.
"Asia is his mate. She's nice but might be a bit much for you."
Jay's mouth formed a soft O as she rested her head against the desire of her soul. The rest of the walk was peaceful and she enjoyed it more than she thought she would. They arrived at the house where the pack resided. Jay couldn't remember the last time she stepped into a pack house. She took in the large building, the three stories and side additions made the brick and white building look like a mansion. She looked up to Henri and he smiled to her.
"My family has added on to it over the years." Henri smiled to the dear one under his arm. "Come on." They walked in and the entryway nearly took away Jay's breath. It was light and airy, with a fresh breeze moving through the area. To her left was a large dining hall, with a table that could easily seat twenty. At the end of the hall was a set of large double doors that opened into a large room where laughter could be heard. Voices carried from that room to the door and the two men that came with them split off.
"Eli. Sebastian." Henri called after them, causing them to freeze, "My office in 1 hour." Henri turned and walked up the steps, not waiting for an answer. Jay was still under the arm of the strong alpha as he guided her up the winding staircase to their right.
"Yes sir." Both men replied in unison as they took off toward their destinations.
Jay was thankful to be alone with the strong man that held her close. She followed him to the second floor, and then down a long hallway. He opened the large door and took her into another hallway. To the left seemed to be rows of doors and to the right was a sitting area with a large window that over looked the forest and property.
"This way," Henri nodded down the hall, which Jay followed. She suddenly felt very closed in, with all the walls and lack of windows, as she walked down the hallway.
They passed a staircase that went upwards and then continued on. "That leads to the library." Henri said, as they moved passed. His hand held hers as they entered a large room. Inside was a large king sized bed, covered in white cotton bedding. The walls were a pale blue with white trims. There was a small space to Jay's right that had two white chairs and a powder blue table.
"This is very..." Jay looked at the white fur rug at the foot of the bed and the white dressers against the wall.
"I know." Henri chuckled, pulling Jay into his arms, "Asia designed it." He smiled, "She said my future mate would appreciate it."
Jay smiled and looked to Henri, "So, why is a mate important?"
The smile withdrew from Henri's face. The realization hit him, Jay knew nothing of mates.
"Come here." Henri sat on the edge of the bed and pulled Jay to sit across his lap, his arms coming about her waist.
Jay melted into his arms, leaning her shoulder against his chest. She let her legs fall to his right and listened to him as began to explain.
"Mates are destiny. They are the half of your soul that was split off when you are born." Henri pulled Jay closer, "They carry with them a part of you, that calls out to you from the depths of your being. There is a longing deep within us that seeks for the other half of our soul. Even if we deny it, our soul begins to cry out and yearn for it's completion."
"Is that why I feel different with you?" Jay looked into Henri's eyes, watching the light blue orbs scan her face.
"I know it's why I won't let you go." His grip about the woman tightened and Jay felt herself heat up at his touch.
"Is that why," Jay repositioned herself to place a leg on either side of Henri so she was straddling him, "my body responds like it does to you?" She rested her arms atop his shoulders and brought her rump down close to his groin. Her hand toying with the back of his neck.
Henri rested his hands on the hips of the woman before him. Gripping her tightly with his finger tips. Jay's breath caught in her throat at his touch and Henri smiled at the reaction. She retaliated by grinding her hips into his groin. With her flesh exposed, her womanhood rubbed against his jeans, the smell of her filling Henri's nostrils.
"I would say yes." Henri said softly, as he leaned his head in toward her. His lips brushing against hers.
"So, what happens when you finally find your mate?" Jay's breath moved against Henri's ear lobe as she spoke. She paused to nip at his ear.
"We claim each other." Henri said in Jay's ear, returning the nibble and following it with soft bite along her neck.
"Claim?" Jay's voice was barely a whisper, cracking as his teeth grazed her flesh, the air leaving her in gasps. Her body heating up at the touch.
"Yes," Henri whispered again in her ear. "A mark is placed," Henri's mouth hovered over the curve of her neck above her left shoulder, "just here." He placed a kiss, followed by a soft nibble on her neck in the exact spot.
Jay gasped softly and moved her mouth over the same area on his left shoulder, "Here?" She nibbled softly and listened to the low growl escape his throat. She smiled as she moved to whisper in his ear, "I want you." She whispered, bringing her face around to crash his lips to hers.
In one motion, Henri lifted her from his lap and swung her around, laying her on the bed. Stripping his tank top from his body, he lowered himself atop her and connected his lips to her. Jay's body responded to the sudden reposition with eagerness, feeling herself become more wet as the kiss continued. Her hands moving along Henri's back. Henri responded to the smell of her sweetness with pleasant kisses down her neck to her collar bone. Stopping, he lifted the large shirt she wore over her chest. She arched her back as he moved, bunching it and lifting it over her head. Suckling and nibbling at her skin as his mouth moved over her body.
Jay's mouth resorted to primal noises, as her breath came in gasps and moans. Henri continued to build familiarity with the body of the amazing woman before him. Kissing further down her body to her chest, taking one soft mound in his hand and massaging gently. Placing kisses on the hard nub that greeted him eagerly. The moans that left Jay's mouth spurred him on. Her hips moving to try to find relief for the heat that was building in her body. Henri moved his hand from her breast and pinned her hip to the bed.
"Henri," Jay pleaded with him, "please." She looked into his ice blue eyes, hoping he would give in. She moved her hand to his groin, massaging him gently, listening to the groan that left his throat.
He lifted himself from her body, stripping himself of his remaining garments. Leaning over the small woman, he admired the scars that sat at her shoulders and arms. Small lines that once might have been gashes and wounds. He kissed them as he made his way to her neck, then along her jaw to her lips. Their lips connected in a moment of sweet passion, as she felt his stiff tip brush against her warm core. A soft moan escaped her lips.
Henri moved to massage her core gently with his fingertips, while his tip continued to tease between her folds. He took pleasure in watching her body become undone at his touch as her hips rolled. Jay found as she rolled her hips in the right way, his warm tip would grace her entrance, causing both to moan in pleasure.
Henri moved his hand to line himself with her womanhood, kissing her lips passionately. Before he could ask if she was good, Jay rolled her hips, pressing his tip into her. They both moaned and Henri pushed into her hard.
Jay gasped in pleasure and pain, the thickness of his member surprised her, stretching her as he filled her insides with pleasure. They reconnected their lips, tongues mingling with each other. The thrusts into her body, sent a pleasure over her body that words could not describe. She could feel his thrusts press her cervix, and the pleasure sent her chasing that high even more. The hunger rising up in her abdomen, her breath came in short bursts as she chased her release.
Henri's body moving in rhythm with Jay's, as he began to kiss at her neck, he felt her body begin to twitch around around him. Her moans growing louder as his thrusts became more rapid. Henri felt Jay's mouth begin to move along his neck, knowing what her primal instincts wanted her to do. He braced himself, as he kissed her left shoulder.
Jay's body reached its peak with an eager motion, tension wrapping firmly about Henri's c**k as her o****m began to rake her body. Her head threw back as she arched upward.
"Henri!" Her voice rang through the room as her o****m ripped through her, her fingers grasping at Henri's back and her nails dug into his flesh. Her lungs burning as she gasped for air. Henri's high followed closely, the feeling of Jay's womanhood milking him of his seed as his high was reached. Henri's teeth grazing Jay's neck as his high peaked. The urge to mark this female and claim her as his own rising within him. Pulling his head back and placing gentle kisses along her jaw, he resisted every urge within him. He rested upon his elbows, hovering over the the beautiful she-wolf. He watched as her gray eyes appeared almost metallic and silver as she sleepy kissed his lips.
He gave her one more kiss and lifted from atop her and walked to the adjoining bathroom. Jay heard water running in the other room as she rolled to her side to see through the opened door. The bathroom door swung open as Henri stepped out, naked as the day he was born. Jay took the moment to take in the male before her. Never had she felt so drawn or attracted to a male like she was right now. His muscular frame was gorgeous to behold. The outline of his pecks, the deep ridges in his abdomen that drew the eyes to the point of a firm v. She looked up to Henri's face, a smile brimming.
"I drew you a bath." He said as he moved to the bed. Jay went to stand and realized how sore she really was. She gave a moan of pain and sat back on the bed. She felt like she'd run for days in human form. Her muscles ached in places she'd never used the muscles of before.
Henri smiled and lifted Jay bridle style into his arms, carrying her to the bathroom. He set her down on her feet to check the water temperature, before lowering her in. The sigh of contentment from her made his heart melt. The bolstered feeling of approval was what he needed from her.
"Jhera." Jay said as Henri turned from her.
His head shot around and looked at her.
"My name, it's Jhera. I've told everyone to call me Jay, to hide who I am." She started to open up and Henri hushed her.
"You don't have to rush this." He said, pointing between them, "We have the rest of our lives." He smiled and kissed her gently. "Relax, enjoy the bath. There is a dial over here," he pointed to a turn dial, "that will turn on the jets if you want."
Jay shook her head, enjoying the warm water as it soothed her aching muscles.
"I've got to dress and attend a meeting. I should be back shortly." He kissed her one more time. "Feel free to explore as much or as little as you want."
Henri's smile warmed her heart, but Jay knew she would be staying to the apartment. She wasn't ready to deal with others yet, re-acclimating to pack society wasn't high on her to do list. She watched through the door as Henri dressed in jeans and a simple shirt, coming back to kiss her one more time before he turned to go.
"One more." Jay called out to him, a chuckle coming from his throat.
"Jhera..." He returned and kissed her once more.
"Say it again." She took in his scent as she waited.
Henri smiled softly and kissed her lips, then her cheek, then her jaw line, working his way back to her ear. "Jhera," he whispered in her ear softly. He listened as she giggled quietly, a sound that made his heart leap. "I'll hurry back, I promise." He kissed her once more and hurried out the door.
Jay leaned her head against the tub edge and relaxed into the bath. She had never felt as comfortable as she did in this moment, except when Henri was near her. She smiled to herself as she soaked in the warmth of the bath, the days events replaying through her head.
