AMIDST THE HURRICANE

Hi there! Let me tell you who I am. I am Ima. This is going to be my story. Let's go back in time to my school days. A normal kid very reluctant to go to school, but had to since my parents were not going to be at home. I used to wake up with all the kitchen chaos, everyone being busy. My father used to take me with him and drop me off at my grandfather's shop, from where I went to school by school bus. Now it seems like a normal happy family, right? It's in the evening the home turns out to be a mess. Parents being angry, sister getting angry. I usually look at these and wonder what's happening. As a kid, I thought this was family. All the emotions firing in one place under a roof. Oh! This is how it works... I thought. But now it's not. Time and years redefined all that for me. I remember all the fights, desperation, everything that lingered around at the time. Spending my free time all by myself, I started to entertain myself. Engaging in arts, drawings, crafts, self-talk, role-play as adults. It looked easy to be an adult then..
