Scatterbrained
It was August 13, 2020. The day that I decided to catch up with some of my old friends. I have this one friend. Let's call her Daisy. Daisy has three kids: Steve, Sadie, and Stacy.
Why am I telling you this? It's because I'm going to babysit them later.
As I entered their home, there were toys, walls full of drawings, and a bunch of tiny shoes everywhere.
"Kids! I would like you to meet your Aunt Macy. She will babysit you guys while your dad and I go to dinner." Daisy said.
"Hi, Aunt Macy!" The kids greeted.
"So, what do you guys want to do?" I asked.
"Aunt Macy, tell us a story!" The kids' begged.
"No! You have a book. Just read there." I reply.
"Please, Aunt Macy. We're so sick of reading Hansel and Gretel." The kids beg.
"Okay, fine! Just this once."
"My best friend and I decided to go on a camping trip in the woods together. While traveling, we argued because I forgot to bring a pocketknife."
"Hahaha! Aunt Macy. Such a forgetful dingus!" Steve chuckles.
"Shut up or, I'll throw you off the balcony." I "politely" suggest.
"He called your Aunt Macy a "Scatterbrained Hoe"-.
"I hate Steve, Aunt Macy!" Stacy interrupted.
"So do I, but can you let me finish the story so that I can chill?" I snapped.
"As we arrived in the woods, nature greeted us with those towering pine trees that sway, along with the wind that gently rustled through our skin. The sweet smell of pine was so pleasant you could almost taste it. One morning, I woke up by that sweet and soft whistling of the birds and the glorious hint of maple wafting through the air as bacon sizzles over the campfire.
"Breakfast is ready, Macy!" Steve said with a glare.
"Good morning, Steve!" I replied with a glare on my face.
The savory bacon was just the right amount of sweet and salty, along with these sweet and soft pancakes."
"What is savory, Aunt Macy?" Steve asked.
"A food that is salty or spicy, dummy!" Stacy replied.
"After breakfast, we grabbed our new bright orange fishing poles and went fishing along the rocky bank of a gently flowing river. We nearly fell asleep due to our back pains. Then out of nowhere, we were shaken from a daze by a lovely sunset. An orangey tone of skies and the bustling wind touches our skin. We stood there, full of emotions and awe, with our eyes wide open, full of surprise and happiness. I feel my heart pound as he touches my soft hands. "I'm sorry for being mad at you." He whispered. The end."
"That's all?" The kids complain.
"Yup! You asked for a story, and you got one." I replied.
"Where's Steve now, Aunt Macy?" Stacy questioned.
"Oh, that story was five years ago; he passed away," I said, apathetically.
"If you don't mind us asking, how did Steve die?" Sadie questioned.
"Long story." I replied, giggling.
"Aunt Macy, w-why are you laughing?" Stacy stutters.
"Do you know something about Eliott passing away?" Sadie asked.
"Did y-you kill Steve?" Steve hesitated to ask.
"Chill! One question at a time." I chuckle.
And that is how I ended up here on death row. You see, killing four people and playing with their internal organs was the best thing that I have ever done. Too bad the parents saw their kid's brains scattered all over the floor. I guess you're wondering how the story ended. Well, this is how it ended.
"I'm sorry for being mad at you, Luna," Eliott whispered.
"You don't need to say sorry. I was wrong anyway!" I said, smiling.
We both lean in for a hug.
"It feels nice for us to reconcile." I said. "But calling me a "Scatterbrained goon" just because I forgot to bring the pocketknife, Will never change the fact that I hate you!" I furiously said while grabbing my pocketknife and stabbing him with it.
His red blood drips down as I even apply more pressure on the knife on his chest.
I sliced his stomach open and tossed his internal organs into the river as I stabbed him. Then after that, I also slit his head open to get his brain and ended up smashing it with my bare hands. And that's how it ended.
"Macy Collinsky, it's your turn." The police said.
Oh, and by the way, this is my last day on earth. See you on the other side.
