Eileen looked up when he walked through the backdoor and from the swollen eyes and red nose he knew she'd already heard. She opened her mouth to speak but he held up a hand to stop her. "Forget it, I don't want to talk about it right now." "What about lunch?" "I don't want anything thanks, you go on home." He walked through the house and stood in the middle of the living room looking out the large picture window at nothing. How had his life gone off the rails?
