I overslept, and when I woke up, the sun was already shining brightly outside. I quickly took a shower and changed into comfortable home clothes. Since I was going to be working in the backyard preparing a surprise dinner, I was wearing just jeans and a blouse that wasn't at all fancy. I needed something comfortable and simple to move around in today.
"Grandpa."
I greeted him and kissed him on the cheek. He was sitting alone in the dining room, enjoying coffee and churros.
"Why did you just show up?"
"Umm... I overslept," I grimaced.
Grandpa narrowed his eyes at me.
"Gosh. Don't look at me like that, grandpa. You're embarrassing me."
"What a newlywed. Your screams can be heard all over the house."
